Two issues since upgrading to KIS 21.3.10.391 (b): can't detect Eicar, Chrome browsing lag.
Skynet replied to Skynet's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Ok thanks, I’ll log an incident. But to be honest the problems it is causing with browsing is getting pretty annoying now, so unless they can offer a quick solution I think I might have to uninstall KIS and move to an alternative product, as it is making it very hard to use my machine reliably. -

Since April 17 update my KIS 21.2.16.590(c) are no longer starting automatic scan verfications;
Psiu47 replied to Psiu47's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
After couple days struggling as usual to convice the suport in my region to understand this issue have been clearly identified in my experience as unknown conflict due to Kaspersky Internet Security 21.3.10.391(a) being released too soon after Kaspersky Internet Security 21.2.16.590(c) showed problematic behaviors as such I have listed on my other discussion. On the 8th conversation they were very much unreasonable to tell me to uninstall and install back KIS. Anyway I’ve been there, done everything I know mostly common that could be done and background scan like rootkit scan still act weird. Like yesterday the verification scan didn’t start at all even I did wait untill 23:43 when a day before the scan was finished at 22:12. But today when I turned on the computer at 19:01 and waited 30 minutes after, the rootkit scan start regularly. And the most surprisily thing is that the scan timelapse took less than 10 minutes like used to be to a count of 1.7k-1.8k files and since Kaspersky Internet Security 21.3.10.391(a) have been released I noticed rootkit scan have been taking aprox. +18-20 minutes to do the procedure. It has been slower and to compare with another machine I have home with basic protection of Kaspersky antivirus program. The background scan time lapse have been as well taking 20 minutes to do what used to be a quick scan that would take 8-11 minutes. So could someone be kind to lead a stronger direction to inform about this problem and let the company know about this annoying problem? -
Kasperspy Security Center Windows 10 Deployment Key - Planning question
Nebulus replied to Nebulus's topic in Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business
Hi, We’ve been using KSC (now ver. 13) for some time and would like to use it to deploy Windows 10 PCs Now before going any further, I read a document from Kaspersky (Quick Start Guide https://media.kaspersky.com/en/business-security/eval/KasperskyLabQuickStartGuide-SystemsImagingGuide.pdf) The initial question I’m asking myself, as we use standard PCs with OEM Windows 10 Pro on it (so all have their own license), if we create a standard image and sysprep it, can we deploy it without giving a W10 Lic. key so that it uses the key from the PC ? When we install a clean Windows on an older PC it takes its key, so wondering if a deployed image would do the same (didn’t find any hint on that) Sorry if that question might seem simple, but the licensing thing seems a bit tricky to me Thanks for any tip on that -

By year. Yesterday during a full scan I noticed the alert and on the fly allowed it as a trusted one, but it disappeared under my eyes. Now I’m reviewing all the scan log and… WHERE THE HELL IT IS NOW??? What means “blocked”, being it not in the quarantine? HOW CAN I RECOVER IT??? This is absolutely insane, cannot allow this. Hoping for replies to both my questions, I cannot rely on such a situation: I MUST be asked if something is “not-a-virus” -
Secure keyboard not working in all fields
andrew75 replied to js613's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
@js613, Secure Keyboard Input only works in browsers (Chromium-based Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and Google Chrome) - https://support.kaspersky.com/KIS/21.2/en-US/70745.htm -
Hi @Flood and Flood's wife , Thanks for the quick response. I am using Windows 10 Pro Latest version and KIS and KPM latest version as well. My main concern is merging/integrating KPM to the KIS application so we won’t need to install KPM as a separate. Since KPM is free for first 15 entry, i think it can be merged to KIS as well, not just KTS. :) Thank you,

Since April 17 update my KIS 21.2.16.590(c) are no longer starting automatic scan verfications;
Psiu47 replied to Psiu47's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
I don’t get why the article that should inform what issues were fixed to actual data bank KIS version if on the adress you added they are not listing what issues were. I did erase the actual user settings and changed back to what they were. But by tonight I won’t be doing rootkit scan because last night completed on 23:54. Almost near midnight which in my experience since KIS 20.0 doing rootkit scans between a change of a day to another would cause another rootkit scan to start again. But of course I haven’t seen this behavior happening since KIS 21.2 but the software application was not showing any problem at all. Is just KIS 21.3 that is bugging or making inoperational rootkit scan or any other verification that run on background. But I can’t test to full and quick scan since I always run them with the interface on screen and I never minimze or close the window because back on KIS 20.0 the progress get stuck and quickly fill fast the progression bar. Some sort of slowness in the refresh rate when scan verifications are minimzed with antivirus window minimzed on taskbar. Anyhow about the description to add my report information. How do I that in here? -

Background Scan hanging up at 1% in Windows 10
Golomar replied to Golomar's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hello: Following Berny’s advice above [enable both iChecker and iSwift] I still have the same problem of the Background Scan utility not running to completion. The latest scan came back with only 30% of the Background Scan being completed: Latest Background scan shows only 30% of scan was automatically completed and no further scans were done in the last 2 days. I remember in an earlier version of KIS that a Background scan could be run manually. I can run Quick, Full, and Vulnerability scans manually so why not return to letting users run a Background scan manually just like in the past? My computer does not noticeably slow down when any of these scans are being run and I like to run them manually or at least have the option of running the Background scan manually. Anyone else having incomplete Background scans on their Windows 10 Home Edition machine? -
Kaspersky reports are not working.
User303 replied to User303's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
So I have recently installed Kaspersky internet security on my computer, after the install it detected some trojan (nyss.exe, process1.exe) and asked to disinfect and reboot. which I did, now when I want to view reports it just hangs at the report windows with some overlapping UI elements, I tried everything cleanup disk defrag troubleshooting etc. , quick scan hasn’t detected anything and full scan would apparently take 20+ hours, which I don’t have, I even cleared the reports then at-least the report window didn’t freeze, but as soon as I got one log(update log) opening that tab immediately freezes the window, I don’t know what to do now. And some weird things also happened recently Kaspersky trying to update and then randomly showing databases have not been updated for a long time, even though it does it regularly, scans getting stuck at 1% and not showing remaining time. I don’t want to format my HDD and its a busy machine so I can’t afford the hassle, Please help me. OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 (Version 20H2 build 19042) Kaspersky Internet Security( Version 21.3.10.391 a) Computer: Dell Inspiron 3541 4GB Ram, 500 gigs hard drive. -
Mac KIS and Big Sur BETA (Mac OS 11) support. [merged]
Guest replied to a topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Just a note, KIS will not load and cannot be installed on MacOS 11.0 Big Sur. I recently became a beta tester and the current beta will not allow KIS to load, nor can you reinstall it. It will not even allow the installer to launch. -
False-positive? Flight Simulator 2020 - PDM:Exploit.Win32.Generic.nblk
WeatherWitch replied to CronoK's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
All ok now, thanks for the quick resolution. -
I’ve been using KTS for a while now, and today i noticed that the icon was no longer in my taskbar. This was weird. I went to launch KTS from the Start menu but it popped up a message saying the shortcut was not found. I checked in the Program Files/Kaspersky Lab/Kaspersky Total Security 20.0 and all of the files inside of the directory had been deleted. Very strange. I then noticed that my Windows Security icon was also missing from my taskbar. When i went into ‘Windows Security’ - it was blank. There were no icons for Defender, Firewall etc. Nothing. The entire thing had been disabled. I then downloaded KTS and installed it - but it was unable to run. I assume the malware that had infected my system was preventing it from running. I then downloaded Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool and ran a scan. It picked up 2 results: Trojan.Multi.GenAutorunReg.a Backdoor.Win32.Agent.mytobxThankfully, it was able to remove both of these. However, to be sure, i formatted the entire drive, reinstalled a fresh Windows 10 and now have KTS up and working again. I’m very disappointed that KTS failed to protect my system, allowed malware to infect my system, and to then delete KTS itself. KTS is meant to have measures in place to stop this from happening. All features in my KTS were turned on. It was up to date and set to auto-update frequently.

Background Scan hanging up at 1% in Windows 10
Golomar replied to Golomar's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hello Berny: I read the link information you sent and changed my Quick Scan advanced settings to enable both iChecker and iSwift (only iChecker was active by default). I will try this suggestion and see if that helps my Background Scan activate itself automatically and goes to completion. Merci beaucoup. Golomar -
Background Scan hanging up at 1% in Windows 10
Golomar replied to Golomar's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hello: I have been having a recent problem with my Windows 10-based Kaspersky Internet Security where the Background Scan will ‘hang up’ at 1% of the scan and then quit: This is a relatively recent problem because I remember the background scan running smoothly and to completion not too long ago. I religiously update my Windows 10 operating system and run frequent manual updates to my KIS database including both Quick Scans and Full Scans with no problem. Anyone having a similar problem? I would also like to know if I can manually run a Background Scan as used to be possible in previous versions of KIS. Thank you. -
Keyboard does not respond (Win10, Chrome)
Flood and Flood's wife replied to AL1's topic in Kaspersky Internet Security
Hello @AL1, Welcome! Which KIS version & patch(x) x=letter, is installed → on Windows Taskbar, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select About? May we have a video of the “ on-screen secure keyboard ” issue? May we have a site URL to test? Please post back? Thank you🙏 Flood🐳 +🐋 -
This happens every time the on-screen secure keyboard is (automatically) enabled in any password field under Chrome. Letter keys will not respond anywhere (for example, words, notepad, etc.), while function keys such as <Enter> can still work normally. My current solution is to open a new Chromepage, go to the Google search engine (by clicking on a bookmark, as I can’t enter anything in the address bar), and then type something in the search field. After that, the letter keys will work normally again. Has anyone experienced it? Any solution would be greatly appreciated.

One PC has stopped showing notifcation after nightly scan completes
Bert replied to Bert's topic in Kaspersky Anti-Virus
Sorry to have to report that this appears to be a false alarm caused by my inability to see what’s in front of me. Using VNC, I displayed the notification settings of the PC which worked correctly along side the one which wasn’t and found that they were not exactly the same as I had thought. Making them match, I then started a Quick Scan by manually triggering the item in the Task Library and when it completed, the desired notification appeared as it should. If I’d had my wits about me, I’d have made note of what was different, but I dropped the ball on that one too. -
