  1. Hi in chrome or edge, after i changed some keyboard keys functions(remap), in some cases they work properly, but in some forms, keys do their previous function, which by disabling the Kaspersky extension in browsers, works well , is there solution for this? thanks
  2. So I have recently installed Kaspersky internet security on my computer, after the install it detected some trojan (nyss.exe, process1.exe) and asked to disinfect and reboot. which I did, now when I want to view reports it just hangs at the report windows with some overlapping UI elements, I tried everything cleanup disk defrag troubleshooting etc. , quick scan hasn’t detected anything and full scan would apparently take 20+ hours, which I don’t have, I even cleared the reports then at-least the report window didn’t freeze, but as soon as I got one log(update log) opening that tab immediately freezes the window, I don’t know what to do now. And some weird things also happened recently Kaspersky trying to update and then randomly showing databases have not been updated for a long time, even though it does it regularly, scans getting stuck at 1% and not showing remaining time. I don’t want to format my HDD and its a busy machine so I can’t afford the hassle, Please help me. OS: Windows 10 Pro x64 (Version 20H2 build 19042) Kaspersky Internet Security( Version 21.3.10.391 a) Computer: Dell Inspiron 3541 4GB Ram, 500 gigs hard drive.
  3. All ok now, thanks for the quick resolution.
  4. Hello Berny: I read the link information you sent and changed my Quick Scan advanced settings to enable both iChecker and iSwift (only iChecker was active by default). I will try this suggestion and see if that helps my Background Scan activate itself automatically and goes to completion. Merci beaucoup. Golomar
  5. Hello: I have been having a recent problem with my Windows 10-based Kaspersky Internet Security where the Background Scan will ‘hang up’ at 1% of the scan and then quit: This is a relatively recent problem because I remember the background scan running smoothly and to completion not too long ago. I religiously update my Windows 10 operating system and run frequent manual updates to my KIS database including both Quick Scans and Full Scans with no problem. Anyone having a similar problem? I would also like to know if I can manually run a Background Scan as used to be possible in previous versions of KIS. Thank you.

Keyboard does not respond (Win10, Chrome)

Hello @AL1, Welcome! Which KIS version & patch(x) x=letter, is installed → on Windows Taskbar, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select About? May we have a video of the “ on-screen secure keyboard ” issue? May we have a site URL to test? Please post back? Thank you🙏 Flood🐳 +🐋
  7. This happens every time the on-screen secure keyboard is (automatically) enabled in any password field under Chrome. Letter keys will not respond anywhere (for example, words, notepad, etc.), while function keys such as <Enter> can still work normally. My current solution is to open a new Chromepage, go to the Google search engine (by clicking on a bookmark, as I can’t enter anything in the address bar), and then type something in the search field. After that, the letter keys will work normally again. Has anyone experienced it? Any solution would be greatly appreciated.
  8. Thank you for quick reply! I will try this and report back.
  9. Just a note, KIS will not load and cannot be installed on MacOS 11.0 Big Sur. I recently became a beta tester and the current beta will not allow KIS to load, nor can you reinstall it. It will not even allow the installer to launch.

    KTS Uninstalled by malware

I’ve been using KTS for a while now, and today i noticed that the icon was no longer in my taskbar. This was weird. I went to launch KTS from the Start menu but it popped up a message saying the shortcut was not found. I checked in the Program Files/Kaspersky Lab/Kaspersky Total Security 20.0 and all of the files inside of the directory had been deleted. Very strange. I then noticed that my Windows Security icon was also missing from my taskbar. When i went into ‘Windows Security’ - it was blank. There were no icons for Defender, Firewall etc. Nothing. The entire thing had been disabled. I then downloaded KTS and installed it - but it was unable to run. I assume the malware that had infected my system was preventing it from running. I then downloaded Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool and ran a scan. It picked up 2 results: Trojan.Multi.GenAutorunReg.a Backdoor.Win32.Agent.mytobxThankfully, it was able to remove both of these. However, to be sure, i formatted the entire drive, reinstalled a fresh Windows 10 and now have KTS up and working again. I’m very disappointed that KTS failed to protect my system, allowed malware to infect my system, and to then delete KTS itself. KTS is meant to have measures in place to stop this from happening. All features in my KTS were turned on. It was up to date and set to auto-update frequently.
  11. Hello, I can’t launch the KVRT. It block at 35% with the Error message : “Can’t initialize dump writer”. Before, the tool works nice, no problem. I tried old version, same message. I deleted all files about KVRT (C:/KVRT_Data) but no improvement. It seems be on my computer, may be a corrupted DLL but the tool do not send any information about the error. I found nothing about my problem on any plateform (here included). Some one can help me ? Regards, Ju’
  12. Hello @Corapntr, Welcome! May we know your country/location so we can check what you actually purchased? Post an image of the information that has “mislead” you please? The newegg merchant site is not a Kaspersky site. If a non-authorised merchant has mislead you, that’s outside of Kaspersky’s control. If you actually purchased Kaspersky Anti-Virus, it does not cover mobile devices → see image 1, KIS, KTS & Kaspersky Security Cloud are the products that can be installed on multiple operating systems → image 2. 13. Sorry to have to report that this appears to be a false alarm caused by my inability to see what’s in front of me. Using VNC, I displayed the notification settings of the PC which worked correctly along side the one which wasn’t and found that they were not exactly the same as I had thought. Making them match, I then started a Quick Scan by manually triggering the item in the Task Library and when it completed, the desired notification appeared as it should. If I’d had my wits about me, I’d have made note of what was different, but I dropped the ball on that one too.
  14. Found it, thanks so much for the quick assist.

    Uninstall error safe kid

Thank you for your quick reply. I’ve attached the screen shot and I followed #2 guide. but, same. The installed version is Free version and I expected to have the pop up window to enter email and password as said in the 2nd screen shot.
  16. Windows 10 Pro v. 2004, Kaspersky Anti Virus 21.3.10.391 I have two Windows 10 PCs, running same Win 10 version and same A/V version. I run a scan every night, full scan on Sunday, quick scan rest of week, followed by a backup and shutdown. The scans are started from batch files, triggered by a Windows Task entry: avp.com start Scan_Startup > d:\decodes\QuickScan.txt 2>&1 avp.com start scan_my_computer > d:\decodes\FullScan.txt 2>&1 Until recently, both PCs left a notification message that the scan had completed, with no threats. Now, the notification no longer appears in just one of the PCs. The saved output text shows that the scans were run and completed successfully; it’s only the Windows 10 notification that’s missing. Without the notification, I feel compelled to check the saved output text to assure myself that the scan did actually run. I’ve scoured the Windows and Kaspersky settings of both PC and they appear to be identical. What have I missed? What setting or other factor has been changed which would cause the notification to no longer appear?
  17. A quick update I wanted a fool proof KART uninstall from a working or recently fixed machine, just in case the KART uninstaller failed. This is such an ugly issue, I don't want to take any chances. From what I found The anti_ransom_gui.exe task can easily be stopped The AntiRansom4 Service CANNOT be set to manual or disabled without further investigation Even sc config AntiRansom4 start=disabled fails Manually attempting to change Start in Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Services\AntiRansom4 appears protected I resorted to using Kaspersky's own tool kavremvr.exe https://support.kaspersky.com/common/uninstall/1464 It's fun to get in Canada, I need to use TOR Browser, YMMV It worked great, doing more tests Ugly notes here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gDzDaWPk4s8L2eqP6qERVojFXUtevCaca2G7SmO0wK8/edit

How to block USB and URL

Hello, block USB ports -- How do you set keyboard and mouse in system? only using blueteech? You can use bios to block usb port in “Disable usb support” settings. Block all URL -- create a firewall rule to block all network traffic and move it to the top of the rule list. create a firewall rule to allow 3 site to pass over the firewall and move it to the top of the rule list again. Please pay attation about that you should allow DNS request to pass over the firewall. otherwise, You can not access internet any more. Please see this topic to let you know what I said. Regards.
  19. Although the version is still reported as being the same: The option is back! So whoever did a quick fix, thanks 😄
  20. Thanks PDWK. Honestly my first exposure to this issue was VSS failure. I was making careful notes when I discovered this (your) excellent post in relation to CatRoot and DriverStore. I’ve shared my notes below for anyone to read. They start nice and clean and slowly get messy as I learn more. I’ll clean it up once things settle. I have a suspicion this issue came up when the KART application version automatically upgraded to 3.0.1.3660. I say this because I have compared application versions of working and dead machines. I’ve got screen shots in my messy notes to exemplify. The Product Version of anti_ransom_gui.exe is helpful to query on dead machines. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gDzDaWPk4s8L2eqP6qERVojFXUtevCaca2G7SmO0wK8/edit Regarding reaching out to Kaspersky Support, I am struggling to find a Support URL for the Free KART, but I’ll keep looking. I’d bet the non-free KART has this same issue so I might try that. It’s kinda sad Kaspersky has said nothing here. Hey Kaspersky, who cares if we are dealing with a free product? It’s possibly implicated in wacking computers. These free KART customers of mine and now afraid of Kaspersky. If the purpose of your free software is to transform them into paying customers, you had better act quick if you want to save mine.
  21. Hello @edE48, Thank you for posting back👌 We can’t see 3 vertical lines in your video🤔 We thought maybe you meant the Quick access menu: Link Screen-print the screen showing the 3 vertical lines & post back please? Thank you🙏 Flood🐳 +🐋
  22. @kyros15 Welcome. Did you check your Quick Scan Settings as well ?
  23. Hi @Flood and Flood's wife , Thank you for your quick reply. I have the Anti-Virus version, assuming that those detailed settings are not available (I just checked to make sure). Image attached is the kind of spam I tend to get “above the clock” bottom right. Thanks.
  24. Hi, Kaspersky Internet security disappeared from my Win10 PC, I've tried to reinstall it in administrator mode, the files are there, but it does not launch anymore. If anyone has a solution, I'm interested… Thank you
  25. Hi, I’ve added again a MAC to our MAC-clients group and manually installed on it latest NetAgent and KES for MAC. KSC isn’t able to reach the MAC, ping from server to MAC works fine but if I launch a task there is a wrong hostname resolution to a different IP address. MAC is remotely connected to the VPN and KSC resolve the hostname to a different IP related to the office network. I deleted and updated host’s DNS entries and ping or tracert from server or KSC custom tools are working fine but the problem remains. I can’t see MAC status and every task fails. KSC 11.0.0.11.31 patch B NetAgent 12.0.0.35 KES 11.0.1.753
