previous application launch failed
ruggb posted a topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
when I boot my computer and Kaspersky starts I get this popup window saying "previous application launch failed" and asking if I want to send data. I have sent it a few times, but I have no idea what application and what to do about it. Is it talking about Kaspersky? If so, why is it happening and how do I resolve it? -
Previous Application Launch Failed Kaspersky
DANIX posted a topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
I would like some help with this message that keeps popping up every time I start my computer, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the software three times and it always reappears, the message says "The previous startup of the application failed" and a report has to be sent , I already sent the report that the message asks for but even so it reappears, I wanted support for this and in the application settings there is no function that disables sending data, and at the time of installation I unchecked the option sending data to report, I request clarification on the matter... -

So, in the last 4-5 days now Kaspersky is blocking the app Discord on my PC. It doesn't give me any notifications whatsoever I just can't launch discord while Kaspersky is active. Discord shows me the following error '' Update failed - retrying in X sec... ''. I did get in contact with Discord support and for 3 Days we tried many different ways to fix it, other versions, PTBs, older versions, different launch options etc. but in the end, it came all to the same result, Discord won't launch, no matter which version it is unless I completely turn of Kaspersky. When i do turn off Kaspersky - launch Discord - turn on Kaspersky, Discord won't show me pictures and won't let me play videos via the app. After a couple minutes more Discord will get in a state where you would get normally if you don't have internet connection anymore. So, as said to be able to use Discord i need to turn off Kaspersky. When i try to add the Discord.exe as a trusty source via Kaspersky option -> threats and exceptions -> specify trusted apps, Kaspersky does crash. I did attach a screenshot about it. When im in the opions '' exceptions for application '' and i add Discord.exe after i click 'tamam' which means OK, nothing happens (even if i wait for long). After i click it 1 more time Kaspersky just crashes. So here the stuff i already did and still doing. -Check for Updates and do them -Check drivers -Launch with administrator -Try older Version of Discord -Try to add as many folders etc from Discord as a Trusty source -Try different Version of Discord like Public Test Build -Send crash report when Kaspersky crashes I would be happy if someone can give me a solution to this. Discord staff run out of options to let me try so it seems like it might be a problem with Kaspersky. My Version is Microsoft Windows 11 x64 Build 22621 --- 21.3.10.391 (k) --- It's standart version of Kaspersky. Not a free one.

Licensing first of all, familiarize yourself with the capabilities of your license package ... https://b2b-compare.kaspersky.ru/ unfortunately I found only the Russian version, try using the translation of the page Google Chrome you need to understand that the applications you install have a full range of functions, but their activation depends on the type of your license Select license (as well as other licenses) allows you to use many solutions to protect end devices running different systems KES - for workstation (7,8,10,11) and Servers KSWS - for Windows Servers (2008, 2012, 2016, 2019 etc) IOS Android Linux these are different solutions, however, you will need the same license to activate them, counting licenses by total number of devices, for example... KES - 5, KSWS -3, Linux - 2, Android -2, iOS - 1 = 13 2.what to use for servers - KES or KSWS in terms of licenses - no difference KSWS - initially better tested for working with servers, and has a completely different set of components than KES. What to use depends on your security approach and functionality requirements. however, I would like to clarify that at the moment the version of KSWS is 11.0.1 - and its further development is not planned, everything is being replaced by a single KES solution (now KSWS capabilities are being actively added to it), support for the solution will be extended until the end of 2024. Therefore, it is worth thinking about the transition to this solution. https://support.kaspersky.com/help/KESWin/12.1/en-US/181834.htm 3. problems with network blocking of scanners ... more information is needed here to understand the essence of the problem ... in any case, you can always contact technical support through your personal account https://companyaccount.kaspersky.com support is available to all business license users 4. local management of the KSWS client (adding keys) if KSWS is connected to a KSC server, the installation of licenses can be done either automatically or using a task, there is no need to do it manually on each server. By default, KSWS does not have such a local interface for managing the solution (like KES for example), to connect to the interface, you will need to additionally install the management console ... You can download it from the manufacturer's website (full distribution) https://www.kaspersky.com/small-to-medium-business-security/downloads/endpoint?icid=ru_sup-site_trd_ona_oth__onl_b2b_klsupport_tri-dl____ksws___ Extract the contents of the archive, and run setup.exe, on the server where you want to install the console, select the appropriate item for installation. It is not necessary to install the console on all servers in the network, the console has the ability to connect remotely to the KSWS solution, you will be asked about this in one of the console installation steps. after that you can launch the console from the start menu or tray icons... add or remove a license or configure the settings manually if the device is not connected to the KSC 5. no ability to create tasks and policies for KSWS you probably forgot to install the management plugin for the KSWS solution ... it will allow you to customize the solution ... you can install it from KSC download and run the installation of the plugin, after it is completed, restart the console... you should now be able to pop in and set up policies and tasks 6. tasks for each of the products there is a list of tasks, and if I understand correctly you did not find the virus scan task ... for KSWS this is an on-demand scan sorry for such a long post -

От разработчиков игры Frontier Customer Support пришел ответ: (11:36:50 AM) Luna: Hi there. We've received a number of reports of this and will have it looked into. In the meantime, this is definitely a false positive, and you can safely whitelist JWE2.exe to launch the game. -
Hello @templar, there is a slightly older answer to your question from @Igor Kurzin. According to it, a rootkit scan also takes place during the quick scan and the full scan. I think nothing has changed.
-
Greetings folks, I think I asked this question years ago on the old forums, and I can't remember the answer. Does Quick scan and Full scan include a rootkit scan? I only ever run Quick scans, the only time I will run a Full scan is if Kaspersky detects something in a Quick scan. I also have background/rootkit scan turned off, as I prefer to run all scans manually. It occurred to me the other day that if this function is turned off and Quick scans don't include Rootkit scans then I'm never actually scanning my PC for rootkits.

old kaspersky install, checking kaspersky health (domaincontroller windows 2016)
Mistry replied to iam-user-3424's topic in Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business
To check the health of Kaspersky Endpoint Security on a Windows Server 2016 domain controller, you can follow these steps: Launch Kaspersky Endpoint Security: Open the Kaspersky Endpoint Security console on the Windows Server 2016 domain controller. You can typically find it in the Start menu or by searching for "Kaspersky Endpoint Security." Check Protection Status: In the Kaspersky Endpoint Security console, look for the protection status or health status indicator. It should provide an overview of the current state of your system's protection. Ensure that the status is displayed as "Protected" or "Secure." If there are any issues or warnings, they will be highlighted in this section. Update Kaspersky Endpoint Security: Check if your Kaspersky Endpoint Security installation is up to date. Look for an option to update the software within the console. It's important to keep your antivirus software updated to ensure it has the latest virus definitions and security patches. Run a System Scan: Initiate a system scan within Kaspersky Endpoint Security to check for any malware or threats. You can typically find the scanning options in the console's navigation menu. Perform a full system scan to thoroughly examine all files and processes on the domain controller. Review Event Logs: Check the event logs within the Kaspersky Endpoint Security console for any warnings, errors, or relevant information. The event logs can provide insights into the health and performance of the software, as well as any issues that might need attention. Verify Real-Time Protection: Ensure that real-time protection is enabled and active on the domain controller. Real-time protection actively monitors files, processes, and network activity to detect and block any potential threats in real-time. Confirm that this feature is turned on and functioning properly. Check Update Settings: Verify that the update settings in Kaspersky Endpoint Security are configured correctly. Ensure that the software is set to automatically update virus definitions and program modules. This ensures that your antivirus software is equipped with the latest protection against emerging threats. Verify Exclusions and Policies: Check the configured exclusions and policies within Kaspersky Endpoint Security to ensure they align with your organization's requirements. Exclusions can be set for specific files, folders, or processes that should be excluded from scanning. Policies dictate the behavior and settings of the antivirus software. If you encounter any specific issues or errors during the process, consult the Kaspersky Endpoint Security documentation, contact Kaspersky technical support, or consider seeking assistance from an IT professional experienced with Kaspersky products. -
W32/ASH!tr Trojan Virus Not detected by Kaspersky end point security
Mistry replied to vfyxwuz's topic in Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business
If Kaspersky Endpoint Security did not detect the W32/ASH!tr Trojan virus on your system, here are some steps you can take to address the issue: Update Kaspersky: Ensure that your Kaspersky Endpoint Security is up to date with the latest virus definitions. Newer updates often include detection and removal capabilities for recently discovered threats. Perform a Full System Scan: Initiate a comprehensive scan of your entire system using Kaspersky Endpoint Security. Make sure you select the option for a full system scan rather than a quick scan, as it covers more areas of your computer. Use an Additional Security Tool: Consider using another reputable antivirus or antimalware software alongside Kaspersky to increase the chances of detecting and removing the Trojan. Some well-known options include Malwarebytes, Norton, or Bitdefender. Ensure that you only run one real-time protection software at a time to avoid conflicts. Check for False Positives: It's possible that Kaspersky Endpoint Security might have identified the file as a false positive, meaning it flagged a legitimate file as a threat. Check the quarantine or detection logs within the Kaspersky software to confirm if this is the case. If it is indeed a false positive, you can restore the file from quarantine and exclude it from future scans. Update Your Operating System and Applications: Make sure your operating system, web browsers, and other applications are updated to the latest versions. Keeping your software up to date helps protect against known vulnerabilities that malware can exploit. Run Additional Malware Removal Tools: Use reputable on-demand scanners like Microsoft Safety Scanner, Emsisoft Emergency Kit, or HitmanPro to scan your system for malware. These tools can complement your existing security software and provide an additional layer of detection. Seek Professional Assistance: If the issue persists or you're uncertain about the severity of the infection, consider consulting a professional IT technician or contacting the technical support team of Kaspersky. They can provide personalized assistance based on your specific situation. It's important to regularly maintain and update your antivirus software, practice safe browsing habits, and exercise caution when downloading files or clicking on links to minimize the risk of malware infections. -

old kaspersky install, checking kaspersky health (domaincontroller windows 2016)
ElvinE5 replied to iam-user-3424's topic in Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Business
To use this interface, you need to install it additionally on this device, or on any other, as it is possible to connect to the interface of a remote server over the network. You can get it from the distribution kit from the developer's site. run setup.exe, select the item you need, during installation the system will ask about the possibility of remote control, you can set the appropriate "checkbox" to enable this feature. The shortcut to launch will appear in the appropriate popup of the product in the start menu If a password has been set, then when the console tries to connect to the program interface, the system will ask for it, the same goes for attempts to uninstall the product. if necessary, it can be installed from the GUI disable the use of the "firewall" component, by default this component is disabled in the installation package, so check if you use it ... however, it must be remembered that this component only works with allowing rules for incoming traffic Yes, this is the control center for all LK products that you use on your network. if you have everything set up and all the devices are connected to the management server, then you can manage protection through policies for the corresponding product. -

No longer there. Thanks for your attention. -
Can the "News" notifications be disabled in Kaspersky Free?
Flood and Flood's wife replied to tbcam88's topic in Kaspersky Free
Hello @GeekyRedhead, You're most welcome! Re A. NOT updated - said it had done so 4 mins. prior! - are (you) referring to a: Database update OR an application version update? Don't worry about 'double-commenting', no problem, how else can you share important information - without it - no answer required... FYI, IF / when a successful install is done, we do not want the Kaspersky app pinned to the Windows Taskbar. While we appreciate you've spent hours "trying to get it to work" - we don't have a quick answer without troubleshooting & offering solutions - all of which takes time for you to implement - including providing feedback... AND - different time zones may also impact response times > in either direction. In (your) MyKaspersky account, *which* Kaspersky AV software in shown - associated with the device? Please post back? Thank you🙏 Flood🐳+🐋 -
Can the "News" notifications be disabled in Kaspersky Free?
GeekyRedhead replied to tbcam88's topic in Kaspersky Free
@FloodandFlood'sWife Sorry to double-comment, but the end of this saga is that I downloaded the more updated file today, and during install, it discovered the previous installation, as expected, removed it, asked me to restart my PC and didn't install the new file. Ugh! No icon on my toolbar. However, it's showing up in my Task Manager, and Context Menu! I completely uninstalled it manually, then attempted the new installation, not once, but THREE times, to no avail. I was forced to install another AV program, as it had taken most of my day with all that shenanigans, and I should have been working on FAR more important tasks. I would prefer to have Kaspersky, but unless you have a quick and easy installation solution, I guess I have no choice... -

macOS 13 very slow login after installing Kaspersky
stuartpal replied to Luca91's topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
Exactly the same. My new macbook super quick at start up using old Kaspersky programme but it expired. Upgraded to Premium and now a good 2-3 mins wait to start up after initial password. Can I turn it off and start it manually after the macbook starts? -
So I play alot of modded minecraft, which involves .jar files. Now, with kaspersky set to extreme, it takes forever to launch as it scans all the .jar files whenever it launches, whenever I have it to scan archives. However, if I turn off scan archives, theres a chance a malicious mod might slip through. What would be good settings to have so where I scan .jar files, but maybe have it not make minecraft take forever. I have a temporary solution of allowing to scan them whenever they download but not whenever the application starts up via intrusion prevention. Any ideas?
