After Claude checked it once by himself, he determined from the system logs and program logs that the error was caused by a conflict between Kaspersky's avpui.exe program and the virtual HID tablet driver in the installed Sunlogin remote control software. Finally, Claude provided me with the possible causal chain: avpui.exe is a WPF program written in .NET 8. There is a PenThreadWorker background thread in the input stack of WPF, which will enumerate the digital board devices in the system through the PenIMC COM interface of Windows Ink. When the machine is shut down, the WISP / PenIMC COM component and the virtual HID device in the session are removed first. At this time, GetTablet cannot get the device and returns to E_INVALIDARG. On the .NET side, it is shown as ArgumentException : Value does not fall within the expected range ( another case is that the COM server has been offline, CoCreateInstance throws E_NOINTERFACE ). Under normal circumstances, WPF only treats COMException as a recoverable error, and this ArgumentException will bubble into an unhandled exception. Kaspersky hung an ExceptionPolicy.ProcessFirstChanceException on AppDomain.FirstChanceException.It detects that ' the session is shutting down ' and intentionally calls Environment.FailFast ( ' Terminate on shutting down of the current session ' ) to end the process. FailFast triggers the Windows fail-fast exception, and a hard error dialog box pops up by csrss.exe. This status code has no corresponding copy in the system message table, so the title bar shows the process name avpui.exe, and the text can only show Unknown Hard Error. Finally, I uninstalled all the virtual device drivers of Sunlogin remote control software in the task manager, and this error report pop-up window never appeared again. Combining feedback from other users in the community, similar errors have occurred with the NetEase mumu emulator and NetEase UU remote software. I also suspect that there is a conflict between Kaspersky and the virtual device drivers in multiple remote control software, and this has been an issue for a year. While it's totally true that I do not understand the internals of Kaspersky, I am pretty familiar with encryption protocols like HTTPS or POP3S and associated industry standards, best practices and certificate handling. I'm sure Kaspersky follows such practices, just like any other antivirus product or any other scanners that need to 'break' an encrypted channel. The problem I see is very clear and understandable, and Thunderbird behaves exactly the way it should, following industry standards. And it happened exactly on August 28 when Kaspersky's (fake) server certificate expired. Like a doctor, I'd like to have a clear diagnosis, an explanation for the things happened, and then a clear solution to the problem. I don't like to 'try this, try that', and the like. The windows PC having this issues is not my personal PC; it belongs to an elderly person who I am supporting, living about 50 km away, so it is not easy for me to 'try this, try that'. Kaspersky has been running on this PC since 2015 without any issues ... until August 28 this year when said certificate expired. The only clear diagnosis we have so far is that the Kaspersky installation is not at the latest level, for whatever reason. I will take care of this and then we see from there whether or not that solves the problem or whether I have to go to technical support. Thanks anyway for all your input here, I appreciate it! -
When KP is active, there shouldn’t be KL script. Clearly there's some kind of problem. There are posts on the forum about similar issues. Some people find that clearing the cache helps, others need a few OS reboots, and for some nothing works.) Try disabling the script in Network settings. For K. Free it won’t affect anything when the extension is enabled. Also you can try to restore the AV settings. If it doesn’t help, you can try reinstalling the antivirus. Although there’s a chance that the script will remain even after the product uninstall. However, you need to be very careful here, because the product may not be available for installation in your region. If unavailable, it’s better to leave it as it is.

Also, usually, a complete cache clearing can help with such script hangs. But with the KP plugin, this script shouldn’t be present at all in KFA. If the plugin is already enabled, then clearing the cache should help.

I hope this helps Kaspersky support or anyone experiencing similar symptoms. Summary of the problem It started on a physical Windows 7 Professional x64 workstation. The workstation contains critical old software I still use. After performing, using a physical genuine Windows 7 DVD, an in-place repair installation (installing Windows 7 over an existing Windows 7 installation), Windows booted successfully, but the keyboard and mouse no longer functioned. No mouse and no keyboard actions were possible. I could not get past the screen that required entering the product key. I tried multiple physical (used and band new) USB keyboards and mice. They did not work. After exhausting all options I could think of, I concluded the PC hardware – 17 years old – has become faulty. Because I could not restore normal operation on the physical machine, I eventually converted the installation to a Hyper-V VHDX in an attempt to continue troubleshooting. The same keyboard and mouse problem remained in the virtual machine. Sequence of events The sequence was approximately: Existing Windows 7 Professional x64 installation with Kaspersky installed. Windows began reporting filesystem problems during integrity checks (chkdsk reported errors that could not be permanently resolved, among other problems). The system was also experiencing NVIDIA graphics driver issues. To repair both the Windows installation and the driver problems, I performed an in-place repair installation. After the repair, Windows booted, but the keyboard and mouse no longer functioned. After numerous unsuccessful attempts to repair the physical installation, I created a VHDX using Disk2VHD and migrated the system into Hyper-V. After resolving the some storage-controller boot issues in Hyper-V, the exact same problem was still present. This eventually led to examining the keyboard class driver stack in the offline registry. During investigation I loaded the offline SYSTEM hive and examined: HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\ {4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318} The UpperFilters value contained: kbdclass 0klmouflt.k4w-21-19 The same filter was also present in the fallback ControlSet. Probable root cause Windows repair installation left the Kaspersky keyboard filter registered in the keyboard device stack while something about the filter installation itself was no longer valid. Windows continued attempting to load the filter during keyboard initialization, resulting in the loss of keyboard and mouse. Solution A. Keyboard recovery — offline registry repair 1. Load the Windows SYSTEM hive Identify the Windows installation drive. In my case it was D:. reg load HKLM\TEMP D:\Windows\System32\Config\SYSTEM 2. Check the keyboard class driver's UpperFilters reg query "HKLM\TEMP\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}" /v UpperFilters Value: kbdclass 0klmouflt.k4w-21-19 The second entry was the Kaspersky keyboard filter. 3. Remove the existing UpperFilters value reg delete "HKLM\TEMP\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}" /v UpperFilters /f Check the fallback ControlSet and removed its UpperFilters value if it contained the Kaspersky filter: reg delete "HKLM\TEMP\ControlSet002\Control\Class\{4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}" /v UpperFilters /f 4. Recreate UpperFilters with only kbdclass For ControlSet001: reg add "HKLM\TEMP\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}" /v UpperFilters /t REG_MULTI_SZ /d kbdclass /f For ControlSet002, if applicable: reg add "HKLM\TEMP\ControlSet002\Control\Class\{4D36E96B-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}" /v UpperFilters /t REG_MULTI_SZ /d kbdclass /f 5. If anyone from Kaspersky has seen this behavior after an in-place Windows repair installation, I would be interested in knowing whether this is a known issue with the keyboard filter driver or whether there is an official recovery procedure. -

When Kaspersky Firewall is turned on, my virtual machines show as connected to the network, but they have no internet access at all. The network adapter inside the guest OS displays a standard active connection because the IP address is assigned properly via NAT or Bridged mode, but web pages fail to load and external servers cannot be reached. To restore internet access, simply disabling Kaspersky Firewall is not enough. I also have to completely reset the VMware Virtual Network settings to default in the Virtual Network Editor, and as soon as I turn the Kaspersky Firewall back on, the internet connection drops immediately. For context, I do not have this issue at all when using Virtualbox on the same machine, so the problem seems specific to how Kaspersky interacts with VMware's network stack. I would like to keep Kaspersky Firewall running for security, but I need a proper solution or configuration guide to stop Kaspersky from blocking VMware connection permanently when the firewall is active. System details: Kaspersky version(Application Version): 21.26.4.406 OS: Windows 11 25H2 VMware Workstation Pro version: 26H1 (26.0.0.25388281) Any advice or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated. On the web portal the 2 subscriptions are listed as 2 separate entries, like this: And I originally clicked on 'Save activation code' and input the activation code, which is said was now stored on my account, but as you can see, there is no mention of it and it is still telling me to renew.

I have a subscription to Kaspersky Plus that is expiring 12 days from now. 30 days before the end of the subscription date, I received both an email and an application pop-up asking me to renew. I instead bought a new subscription activation code direct from Amazon. In the past, I would enter this activation code within the application and it would immediately update my subscription to the length of the new subscription and then add any time remaining, but this time the application said it would store the new code in my account and the devices would be moved over when the current subscription expires. I had no problem with this, so I went ahead and added the code. I can see the new subscription on my web account listed as inactive/no device. I have some questions about this: 1. If I have stored a new activation code, why am I receiving emails and pop-ups on an almost daily basis warning me that I need to renew? 2. Are the devices going to automatically be added to this new subscription when the current one ends (as stated when I input the code) or am I going to be expected to add them somehow? And if so, how do I go about doing that? 3. Is there some way I can move them across right now (even if it means losing my remaining 12 days), because the constant warnings are starting to drive me insane. Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

As I mentioned, we’ve noticed that when the protection or policy is enabled, Word print jobs go through without leaving any documents in the print queue in the printer settings. We’ve created exclusion zones for the following folders: C:\Windows\System32\spool C:\Windows\System32\spoolsv.exe and in the Word directory as well, but the problem persists. We also isolated a workstation and disabled modules one by one. When we enable the malicious file protection modules and the AMSI module together, the problem occurs. Could there be a task conflict between these two modules? -
I had no issues here to print in my system a document of MsWord, and sending via network to the printer. If KES is managed Do You have any specific policies for type of documents? Application Control, Device Control modules enabled?

Добавлена возможность управлять кешем событий при интеграции с решениями Detection and Response с помощью параметра UseIncreasedXdrEventsCache из конфигурационного файла kesl.ini. Вы можете выбрать между высокой производительностью и объемом используемой оперативной памяти. Добавлена возможность ускоренного завершения процесса kesl при остановке или перезапуске приложения с помощью параметра FastShutdown из конфигурационного файла kesl.ini, что позволяет оперативно восстанавливать работу приложения на системах с высокой нагрузкой и предотвращать избыточное потребление ресурсов. Добавлена возможность настроить ограничение памяти, потребляемой компонентом Анализ поведения на обработку очереди событий, с помощью параметра ReduceSWMemoryConsumption из конфигурационного файла kesl.ini. Использование данного параметра может влиять на качество защиты. Обязательно ознакомьтесь с документацией. Улучшена стабильность сетевого доступа. Теперь в случае аварийного завершения процесса kesl, Watchdog-сервер удаляет правила сетевого экрана, добавляемые приложением при запуске компонентов Защита от веб-угроз и Защита от сетевых угроз, что позволяет избежать потери интернет-соединения и быстрее восстановить сетевой доступ на устройстве. Добавлена возможность запрещать одновременный запуск задач проверки для оптимизации работы приложения. Теперь при включенном запрете в случае одновременного запуска задач проверки задачи ставятся в очередь. В исключения Защиты от файловых угроз добавлена обработка символических ссылок. Теперь пути преобразуются в конечные адреса файлов. Реализовано включение и настройка директории файлов дампов через команду изменения общих параметров приложения без перезагрузки приложения. Эти параметры для настройки файлов дампов удалены из конфигурационного файла kesl.ini. Реализована обязательность пароля при интеграции с решениями Kaspersky Endpoint Detection and Response Expert (on-premises), Kaspersky Anti Targeted Attack Platform и Kaspersky Unified Monitoring and Analysis Platform. Теперь при настройке интеграции для клиентского сертификата требуется указывать пароль. Добавлена возможность сжимать трафик при интеграции с решением Kaspersky Unified Monitoring and Analysis Platform во время передачи событий телеметрии, что снижает нагрузку на каналы связи. Обновлен список поддерживаемых операционных систем, в том числе добавлена поддержка 64-битных операционных систем CentOS версий 5.2, 5.4, 6.4 и 6.6. Yep, after downloading it's still unavailable. But that's not the point. You can pause Kaspersky protection - GC will stop detecting the file even when its safe browsing is enabled. In this case, it's not GC detects the file, but the antivirus provides the information to GC.

Kaspersky thinks it's "not-a-virus:Downloader.Win32.Agent.nzon". If Safe Browsing is enabled in Chrome, it submits the file to the installed antivirus for scanning, and if there is a detection, it just blocks access to this file and writes "virus detected". Doesn't specify what kind of detection it is. This can be confusing and scary for users.🙂

(or do I choose something else?) I didn't include the text of the error message before because it's misleading: It says my email or password are incorrect. This is not true, otherwise I wouldn't be able to log in without the VPN either (and it's not an input error). Thanks again!
