Soon after Kaspersky Plus auto-updated to version 21.14.5.462, my Windows 7 Pro computer blue screened. I tried to reboot in safe mode and run CHKDSK. But it said CHKDSK could not run due to recently installed software. The only way I could run CHKDSK was to completely uninstall Kaspersky Plus. CHKDSK found and fixed disk errors caused by the crash. What do I do now?

Blue screen with Kaspersky
murat5038 replied to Alexandre Oliveira's topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
Also, check for windows updates (including build). I saw a suspicious file that may be harmful. Search your system for a file with this name. https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/bccc515b1522d5fd713e5995d1fc18048fdc2241515e9150455f4b7ec2890e72/detection In this way, open cmd and type this command, wait for it to finish, restart the system when it's done. Command: sfc /scannow https://support.kaspersky.com/common/windows/14637#block0 Check your disk health with HDsentinel software. -

Check the health of your system hard disk -> run a ScanDisk, also be sure You have installed all the security updates via Windows Updates, checks also Optionals. -
Kaspersky behaving weirdly
harlan4096 replied to Gavan's topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
Ok, You can try to get the new 21.14... depending on Your country region. Also, those crashes look not so good, check Your Windows has ALL the Security Updates installed, also check Optional. Check also Your system hard disk health, try a ScanDisk. I guess You don't have other security solutions installed in the system. If still no luck, You better contact to official Kaspersky Support https://support.kaspersky.com/b2c#contacts -
Hi everyone, first I want to mention about, I used to use Kaspersky Internet Security decades ago. I've been using Bitdefender Total Security for years, but this year, I've decided to switch to Kaspersky. I've subscribed to Kaspersky Plus after using Kaspersky Antivirus Free. As a first impression, The settings of the app are frustrating. I'm getting confused about some settings. And sometimes UI gets unresponsive and cannot connect to kaspersky services. I've sent a crash report for this. I am using English for Computer Technical Stuff but I can't find a way to change interface language settings. And also because of this, the things I will mention below may not be accurate for the English Software, I will try to translate, Sorry for that. PS. I think the documentation is not very useful. And all third-party videos and articles refer to the old version of Kaspersky. I was using COMODO Firewall before I decided to subscribe Kaspersky. And that was awesome for a firewall. For Kaspersky, I've noticed that the setting is not a firewall setting only. These settings also can block applications for accessing folders, editing the registry, and even can block running. The firewall should be separated from them. Why are all of these in the same place? It is too hard to manage this way. This app requires a good clean firewall separated, like Bitdefender. Is there a way to configure the firewall to ask me if an app tries to connect internet? What have I done before: I have tried to change Trusted Group to Ask user, but then everything stopped working and I had to rescue my computer after hours of work. Then yesterday I sat and added all required apps to the rules into a sub-group under Trusted Group. But today the sub-group was in the settings but there weren't any rules in the sub-group. All were gone. Today Instead of creating a sub-group, I've added the apps to the Trusted group and set internet access manually. The Trusted Group network tab is set to Inherit but some of the apps in this group are set to Block Access. Does this work that way? This is what I want to do: I want to stay the app settings for the firewall the way they are until now, then any new app tries to connect internet I want Kaspersky to ask me what to do with it only for internet access. That was really easy in Bitdefender and COMODO Firewall. Sorry for the long post. Thank you OS: Windows 11 Pro x64 22H2 22621.1413 - Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22639.1000.0 PRODUCT: Kaspersky Plus

Wait! that pic You posted is not a blocking but a Kaspersky program crash (previous application launch failed), so it seems Your system is not so healthy, be sure You have installed all the system updates via Windows Update, check also Optional. Also, check the health of Your system hard disk: run a ScanDisk. Do You have any additional security software installed in the systen?

Good afternoon, I use a tool called Defraggler to defrag my disk. but the C:\ drive is not defragmented because Kaspersky won't let it. What I have to do? Below is the image of the error you get when you try to defrag and KASPERSKY won't let you: The error information I will put here in English for a better understanding: "Defrag aborted. No files were defragmented. Thi operation cannot be done."

Hoooly sh... I've checked webpage that Danila T. posted and Kaspersky now has Hard Disk cleaner and Performance optimization? Maybe I missed it first time, when I was checking for "new version". First of all Kaspersky needs to stay Antivirus/Trojan/Adware/Rootkit...etc. protection system. And that's it. I'm about 40 years in IT business and I know how every software works how it is designd and so on, I won't detail too much. When you put on your system software that is auto-updatable, all of us are prone to a bug (bad code writing, which is published as an update), which can come sooner or later, that will "optimize and clean" our drives, even thou it is disabled from very begining and which will work somewhere in backround without any notification towards us (wow, really long sentence, pay attention to commas as you read). So, our files and system can be easily gone and messed up. And every software, every OS has bugs. No matter what new update brings, it can bring more bugs. This is why I do not like to use any tool that will somehow magically refresh my Computer, by messing up with files and registry hive, by deleting whetever it likes. Duplicate files? Well, people duplicate their files for a lot of reasons. One is backup. Kaspersky, please, just don't.

Hello @Art731, Welcome! Open Kaspersky Standard, on the left-hand side, select Performance, scroll down, select Clean up your disk space. Reading the documentation: Duplicates, there doesn't appear to be any way to turn it off?, having said that, we've had the app installed since October & it's never tried to delete our duplicates.... ?Even tho it's showing duplicate files, the app still gives you the choice to delete or not - the ultimate decision is yours? Thank you? Flood?+?

PC Acceleration Tool
jonny quest replied to SystemInfo's topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
Hello ? I find if you use the Privacy/Privacy Cleaner along with the PC Speed Up, does a heck of a job, along with plenty of options (Privacy Cleaner, scrolling down the list). CCleaner's sole existence in their life is that of a utility software, Kaspersky is a security software with some nice utility features, so I'm okay with that. We also have the Windows Disk Cleanup utility. I also appreciate that Kaspersky does not find all the regestry keys like CCleaner does. I think that could get an average user in trouble if they were to delete all the suggested keys by CCleaner. I like Kapsersky's conservative approach in that regard as well. -
g_objdt.dat taking up 1.16 GB of RAM
Igor Kurzin replied to affatube's topic in Kaspersky: Basic, Standard, Plus, Premium
This file contains temporary data of Kaspersky, the size of 1,6Gb on the disk is normal. You can disable Self-Defense in the Kaspersky product, then exit Kaspersky product and delete the file.
