i have a similar issue but it would not let me use the free subscription at all because i trailed the premium one then i was hoping for it to SWITCH back to the FREE one but it did not. that was a mistake i made i even came as far as googling Kaspersky free keys and it sent me to the Kaspersky total security and i got a trial there but it was not the same because the free version of Kaspersky does not have a trial. i only used it for approx.. 70 days and I am not happy with their product. I am also locked out the activation service so now I cannot put in any keys so even if I pay for it I will not receive the product. i am upset because on their site it said FREE.
