[Should a person be concerned by programs that do not appear in task manager?]

Over the years I've noticed that two general types of programs are often invisible in the task manager. Audio programs, including audio editing software, and the type of cryptocurrency programs called 'cryptonote'.

It is annoying when programs try to sneak around and lurk but is there some kind of security threat also in that annoying aspect of some programs?

Recently I used wavepad which is audio editing software, and it installed and ran fine, but it does not appear in task manager. That's an excellent program but why are they hiding, and what?

The removal tool uses the usual commercial sneakiness to try to convince you to not quite fully remove it.

You have to read the dialog boxes on each window and specify that you want to completely remove it.

When I installed Kaspersky a popup said something like "Please remove incompatible software". Then a few hours later, again. Each time it said that I clicked 'delete' and it said 'restart your computer'. Then a few hours later, again.

Now, after a few days, I have to ask how to stop this.

I've never had Norton though it may have been pre installed. I searched through the Windows folder and registry and deleted anything that might trigger that but still it pops up.

Windows 10 version 21H1
Kaspersky version 21.3.10.391 

Any suggestions?
