  1. I tried this earlier in the year and it worked. Kaspersky Free updated to version 21.15.8.493 today however and it no longer removes the context entry. The method below using CC Cleaner doesn't seem to work either. Is anyone aware of a working up to date fix?
  2. A clean install of this new version seems to have fixed the problem. I'll be in touch if it rears its ugly head once more - thanks!
  3. Could you perhaps elaborate on what said friend did to solve the issue? Thanks.
  4. Okay, I'll report back once 21.9 has been installed - have you any idea the rollout schedule? Can I perhaps manually upgrade to this version instead?
  5. No no, this problem has been ongoing for months - v.21.8.5.452(c) is simply what's installed at present. Kaspersky Free has been periodically updating its version number as normal so this problem has persisted throughout several iterations of the software. Thanks.
  6. I've been using Kaspersky Free for approximately two years now. This was upon a clean install of Windows 10 so no, there wasn't any other Kaspersky software used previously. This issue has been happening for several months now, sometimes the window appears upon Kaspersky's initial boot, sometimes it doesn't. It's intermittent in nature but happens often. Is there no way this can be submitted as a bug report to the Kaspersky team? Unless somebody here knows a fix, it's surely something that should be looked at at developer level? Thanks.
  7. Hello Flood, Here the issue can be seen on my desktop: https://vimeo.com/807431529 And again using the camera on my phone for a close up of the window's header: https://vimeo.com/807431561 As @SPANKYHP already explained, right clicking and exiting Kaspersky will remove this window. Relaunching Kaspersky again will sometimes result in it appearing, sometimes it doesn't.
  8. Hello all, I'm facing the exact same issue as @SPANKYHP with this transparent error box. I too have been experiencing it for months and am unable to find either an explanation or fix. I tried doing a clean reinstall of Kaspersky Free recently but this problem sporadically continues as normal. Can this bug be logged with the Kaspersky dev team somehow? Windows 10 Pro x64 Kaspersky Free v.21.8.5.452(c) Thanks.
  9. Yeah, those settings are for notifications received while using their web portal I'm afraid... Nothing to do with Kaspersky software itself.
  10. 2. I logged into the MyKaspersky portal but there aren't any notification options that can be configured there? 3. If you open and view the item its system tray icon will vanish, yes, but when Kaspersky publish the next news article, that appears and the process simply begins all over again. 4. No. Kaspersky isn't pinned to my taskbar. 5. Win 10 Pro x64 20H2 19042.2251 6. I have all Windows 10 notifications disabled at administrator level. I'm beginning to think Kaspersky don't allow you to disable these notifications unless you're running one of their monetised versions of the application. Unless there's a registry tweak of sorts available somewhere it's probably something free users just have to put up with. ?
  11. Sorry, Flood. I'm not able to make out the screens you posted as the resolution is too low. The text within each is all blurred. No, there's no option configure "events" within the notification settings window. Kaspersky Free doesn't seem to include the option of modifying such preferences...
  12. Hello Flood, Is this article perhaps out of date? As the options listed within aren't made available on my Kaspersky Free interface. I'm currently running v21.8.5.452(b) - which I believe is latest:
  13. As title says - wondering if these pesky notifications can be disabled. ? Thanks!
  14. Hi @Flood and Flood's wife, Clicking the letter icon simply takes you to the summary shown below where you can re-open the advertisements that have been delivered so far: I suspect @Schulte may well be correct and that these promotional pop-ups are mandatory for Kaspersky Free users. A real shame as the application never used to operate under this model.
