I was told that Windows extensions were not displayed in file names and while it is important that they are, they already were. I was also told that the running of Linux applications was enabled, that is true and deliberate, but the explanation regarding character case seems wrong. I believe that Windows is indifferent to case names so that it will run the first program it finds with that name regardless of case, Linux will only run the program if it has the correct case.
