@Anton Mefodys I have now tried to install KSC Free with no change. Thankfully the error report from the installer contained the URL I needed to be able to replicate the procedure from my attempt with KFA20 (the KSC Free installer uses HTTPS which I am not able to read). All the best!

It turns out that there are two more redirects /bases/kavkis2020/KFA/index-bases-x64.txt /kleaner/Interactive2020/Global/index-kleaner.txt Once the files from these two are in the same folder as the rest KFA20 installs without any complaints! So the issue is with the installer not following the redirects from the server replies. I wonder why...

The device running KFA18, which earlier was running KFA20, is the device that, at the moment, will not upgrade KFA18 to KFA20. There is only one device. Since the device did not want to upgrade to KFA20 I uninstalled KFA18. I then tried installing “Kaspersky Security Cloud – Free” but it would not even connect to Kaspersky servers. I then ran the device for a few hours without any Kaspersky software since my device doesn’t seem to connect to Kaspersky Upgrade Department. Thank you for you help, questions and suggestions.

No I have a phone that works and does what it’s being told. I also have a computer running a fresh install of Windows 10 which will not upgrade Kaspersky Free Antivirus to the latest version 20.0.14.1085. I am now running KFA 18.0.0.405. Before re-installing Windows I was using KFA20.0.14.1085 with no problems at all.

...and what info is included in the zip and who else will be able to read the data?

Hello @FLOOD and @Berny , thank you for your replies. I have no problem installing Kaspersky Free Antivirus KFA18 and do a database update. It is the upgrade of the program to KFA20 that I am unable to perform. A1, My time is correct (using NTP se.pool.ntp.org). A2&4, No problem with connection. Trying to ping a few randomly picked servers from the list provided returns an average ping of around 28ms (I’m in Sweden) with max 29ms - no missing packets. A3, resetting iE settings and a restart of my computer changed nothing. A5, I’m using the built in firewall. A6, Clean as a dinner plate. A7, Upgrading is the problem - not installing the old software. B1, Sure. When trying to install Kaspersky Cloud Security Free it just says “Can not connect to the applications installation source” in Swedish. When installing Kaspersky Antivirus Free 18 it looks for an updated version of the software, with no success, and then continues with the installation.
