My KIS subscription is expiring in a couple days. I was notified that it was going to be Auto-renewed. I called Kapersky and cancelled the auto renewal. Since then I've been receiving emails periodically offering 15% off the $69 renewal price. I've also noticed that for "new users" the promotional rate is $39.99. Also at the bottom of the 15% discount offering email is this verbiage:
"Additional online offers & discounts may be available at the time of your renewal which are not applicable to your subscription. If you want to take advantage of discounts available at the date of expiration of your license you should perform the following steps:
1. Cancel your Auto-Renewal Plan (details on how to cancel above) before your automatic billing date
2. Manually renew/purchase a new license on the date of expiration of your current license"
So first question, are renewal prices purposely 40% higher than for new users (my last year renewal price was $39.99). Second question, if I wait until after my expiration date, am I considered a new user (email verbiage seems to suggest that)? Third question, will "purchase a new license" involve loading a completely new version of KIS? Currently what I have works well with my Windows 7, will I risk the new version of KIS not working?
