  1. Hello @Rimanah

    You’re most welcome☺ !

Thank you for taking the time to let us know🙏

We’re delighted the issue is resolved🤸

Well, while It is a solution, I wouldn’t say the issue is fixed. This is essentially disabling Kaspersky’s functionality anywhere - a “brute force” solution. The issue still needs to be looked at and perhaps Steam needs to be whitelisted by Kaspersky to stopped it from being blocked.

  2. As of today, Kaspersky began blocking Steam servers.

    Hello @Rimanah,

    Welcome back!

Please read before you create a new topic & provide the information detailed by @Danila T.including full screen images of the issue & KIS Report, showing KIS blocking Steam servers?

    Thank you🙏

Hello, thank you for the answer. Kaspersky doesn’t show any notification regarding the blocking, but I was able to fix the issue by disabling monitoring on ports 443 and 80. It must be a new problem, either on Steam’s or Kaspersky’s side.

Actually just disabling monitoring on port 443 fixed it.

  4. As of today, Kaspersky began blocking Steam servers making me unable to use my Steam client fully. This issue was not there in the past, it is new. It makes me wonder, if it can be rolled back(there was an update not a long time ago, so I assume this was what caused it). Currently disabling Kaspersky completely makes Steam usable again, but clearly this solution isn’t optimal.

Could this be fixed in the future and does anyone else experience compatibility issues with Steam?

  5. Hey,

Thank you for the quick answer, but that’s not exactly what I meant.

I believe I own the multi-device licence, which I think allowed me to use multiple mobile devices per one computer, but I’m not sure. I’m asking, because I’m currently facing a weird problem about exceeding number of devices for the licence and I’m afraid to add any mobile devices, in case it would cause more problems.

  6. Hello,

I’ve been using the current licence for over 150 days with no problems until today. Suddenly, the licence got blocked with the message “Exceeded the maximum number of activations”, even though I’m using it only on one computer.
fter I restarted the PC/re-entered the activation code, it always worked for couple of minutes, until getting blocked again.

What is going on with this?
Now it went back to normal, but I can’t be sure it won’t disable itself again it next few minutes.

I have contacted the support, but this problem is happening right now and It seems to be almost random.

  7. Hello, I had a strange occurance today. I’ve been using a well known program called Xampp and about two days ago they released a new version. I have downloaded this version without any problem, but once the file was downloaded I couldn’t immediately access it. The icon was missing(there was just the default “sheet of paper” icon). This was happening before when downloading files, but usually it took about 10 or so seconds before the file was normally accessible. I think this is a part of Kaspersky’s protection, because it seems like the file is being scanned by the File-antivirus component(real-time protection) before letting user open the .exe file. Well as I said, since it took a longer time than before, I tried right-clicking the file and clicking on properties to find out what is happening. This somehow caused the explorer.exe(which takes care of the GUI) to crash and after couple of seconds left me with a blue screen and the “Windows button, Search” icons on the left bottom side of my other monitor - basically it just crashed and broke. After I restarted the system everything was fine, except the file again wasn’t accessible. I tested if the crash was caused by the right-click again, with success(if I can call another crash to be a success 🙂 ). Well anyways, this proves in fact that the crash was caused because of interacting with the supposedly uninteractible file - and the uninteractibility of the file was probably caused by Kasperesky’s defences(realtime protection). After a longer duration of time the file became finally accessible so scanned the file with right-click scan, which wokred fine, but took significantly more time than I would expect it should(it takes around 150mb, but took at least 5-10 min to scan, probably because it was previously unknown and the code/archives in it were too complex). After the kaspersky then added it to it’s “trusted database” I had no longer problem and after I redownloaded the file after PC restart again to test it, it took split of a second to be accessible. I then again tested it with the linux version of Xampp and again - it was inaccessible for a long duration of time and when I right-clicked it, the system this time worked, but I wasn't able to open any applications and once windows were closed, they couldn’t be opened again. After another restart and couple of minutes of waiting it was fine again, probably because Kaspersky verified it. Anyways, did anyone have a similar experience with Kaspersky and do you think my explanation(that it was simply the fault of real-time protection scanning complex unknown file that was interacted with) makes sense?

  8. I have a very strange issue and an issue that isn’t a new one. A year ago I once scanned an almost empty folder with few of my photos - coming out as this: “1 object detected, 1 object desinfected”. Of course it was strange itself to be found in a folder of this kind, so I checked what kind of malware that was. To my suprise there was nothing in quarantine nor the scan report. There was a detection, but no file or malware. That year ago I figured out repeating many and many scans in 1-2h caused this to happen again - it didn’t matter what kind of scan or even file was scanned, it just happened once in about a hundred scans. So I reported it to the tech support and they told me it was a bug, that then probably got fixed since It didn’t happen again in about a year.

This brings me to this day. After an update to version 2021 I have experienced this once again - this time by scanning a newly downloaded game from steam(meaning it was 100% legit). I was able to repeat it by doing lot of scans yesterday(One scan every few minutes with no changes to the system, meaning it is not some kind of malware, because it would have gotten detected - also it doesn’t seem to be activated by time, but rather amount of scans), but I wasn’t able to simulate it again today.

My question is, does anyone have the same issue? I’ll send a screenshot of what I mean. If you do, please report this to the Tech Support, because it seems like the same bug as last time.

  9. @Rimanah,

    • How is your “question” related to Kaspersky Internet Security software, which presumably, you have🤔?
    • There’s plenty of information available regarding troubleshooting spoofed email addresses.

    Thank you🙏

    Flood🐳

Sir, could you please answer my question instead of questioning if it should be answered? I have looked up at many sources, but I’d like to hear a professional informative response and that’s why I’m here on Kaspersky forums, since PC security is high priority here. So please either provide a clear relevant answer, or if you do not know it, then just don’t say it’s pointless and shouldn’t be answered. Thanks

  10. Thanks for the answer, but it doesn’t answer my question. I heard it is possible to check if email was spoofed by checking it’s headers and checking if it somehow came from the real source. I do not have enough information about this and that’s why I’m asking here. Does anyone know a reliable way to check an email this way? Also is opening the original plane-text safe itself?

Once again thanks and please - read the whole message and answer here with your own words

  11.  @Rimanah, delayed start refers mainly to the graphical user interface of the antivirus and on those components that do not affect protection when loading the operating system. So this does not reduce protection.

The setting only works when the computer boots up and is mainly intended for slow computers.

When using SSD, the difference will really be small.

Thanks, that’s the info I needed! So I’ll just turn the option off(uncheck), for the better security(even though it’s small gain)

  12. @RimanahPlease see this K-Lab article
“This check box controls the use of operating system resources by Kaspersky Security Cloud. If this check box is selected, only critical protection components of Kaspersky Security Cloud are run at the startup of the operating system. Protection is completely enabled after the operating system loads. If this check box is cleared, all protection components are run simultaneously when the operating system starts up.”

Alright and what about the performace(with an SSD)/security impact?
