  1. I'm using Kaspersky Plus 21.16.6.467(c) on Win 11.

I've noted for about the last week I have been getting  Windows Security platform antimalware platform updates from Windows update just around the time patch c became available.

Windows security tells me Kaspersky is turned on and under windows defender firewall I'm told  these settings are being managed by Kaspersky.

Are these updates coincidental as it has never happen prior to patch c?

  2. I have the premium version of vpn 21.5.11.384 (c) on a fully patched windows 10 21H2 19044.1645

I still sometimes use IE11 for some things and the vpn works fine for all those sites. However if I try the same web pages with vpn turned on using Microsoft Edge Version 100.0.1185.44  I get  "Hmmm… can't reach this page". This is true of all pages I try accessing with Edge. This happens with any of the VPN servers on the list.

Turning off vpn and refreshing the page correctly brings up the page.

Any ideas how to get things working correctly or is this a technical glitch?

  3. you can disable automatic update by doing this:

    1. Disable Self-Defense
    2. Exit Kaspersky product
    3. Add the following parameters in system registry:
    For x64 systems:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\KasperskyLab\AVP20.0\environment (20.0, or 21.1, or, 21.2 - depending on the version you have installed)
add a STRING parameter IsVersionUpdateEnabled with value 0.
    For x86 systems:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KasperskyLab\AVP20.0\environment
add a STRING parameter IsVersionUpdateEnabled with value 0.
    4. Start Kaspersky product
    5. Enable Self-defense

Thanks to  Igor Kurzin for the above info in this thread.

  5. Patch A for Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection version 21.2.16.590 was released on November 16, 2020. Patch A foxes several application issues. Patch A is installed with the database update for Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection.

How does one do a database update for Kaspersky secure connection? I can’t see any update button in the program itself.

Previously I uninstalled the old version then reinstalled using the newer version.
