  1. Flood and Flood's wife, > May we know the URL I’m really sorry, I would not share this info for privacy concern.
  2. Hello Flood and Flood's wife, Thank you for your concern. > by suppressing “Download denied” notifications, are you confident you’ll receive the notifications you do really wish to see? In fact, not one hundred percent. But I have performed an investigation and I have found primary location of the notification. It is marked as “Safe website” by Kaspersky. As far as I understand the HTTP protocol, there is not a way to put such a malicious object into my computer. Kaspersky software knows about this object and takes care of it.
  3. Sorry, I pressed “Best answer” button on the wrong message. Could you please change it to Igor Kurzin’s “You can check the report via”?
  4. Hello, Flood and Flood's wife and Igor Kurzin, Sorry for the delay, there was a new Kaspersky software update to the revision 21.3.10.391 (f) and I was hoping it was related to my problem. Unfortunately, nothing has changed. Oleg2> There is no “More Tools” item in the Kaspersky UI. Please disregard my assertion, sorry for misleading you. Thanks Flood and Flood's wife for screenshot, I found “More Tools” item. Unfortunately, this does not help me locate the malicious web address. As I wrote earlier: Oleg2> Or do you want to tell me that the resource you are visiting is dangerous. Maybe this is good information. Then give me the address of the dangerous link. However, the information in your log does not include this link. When you visit a web page, it downloads data from many places. And you only listed one of them, but not the one that is typed in the address bar of my browser. Although you have all the information and you can provide a specific address wherever I go. In fact, I am aware about report records, I got access to them through the system notification area → right mouse click on Kaspersky "Download denied" message. However, as I earlier explained, the report only provides me with the final location of the malicious object, not the web address that I enter into the address bar of my browser. Thus, the report does not provide me with any useful information. Oleg2> There is only the item “Enable notification sounds” in the “Settings → Interface → Notification settings”. Looks like I was wrong again, I didn't find the “Notification settings” clickable, thanks to Flood and Flood's wife for their help, I am very grateful. I turned off "Download Denied" and no longer see annoying messages. So, I consider the case closed, thanks Flood and Flood's wife and Igor Kurzin for your help, I very appreciate it. PS Can I tell you a little story? Some time ago I shared my home with a cat, beautiful Siberian beast. One day I left home for a week and asked a neighbor to feed my cat. A couple of days after returning, I found a severed mouse corpse on a sleeping pillow. In fact, my cat told me, "You think of me as a part of the home decor, but I could really help. Please do not leave me!" I didn't know whether to punish her or comfort her. It looks like some system utility providers behave the same way. Over a long period of time, the customer may view his system tool as nothing valuable simply because he does not see the direct effect of its work. In this way, a system utility provider reminds its customer of its value. This is understandable, but can be a little annoying.
  5. Hello, Igor, > Can you please clarify the scenario a bit more, you open some site and then downloads are denied repeatedly? I didn't download something. This is just a message from Kaspersky claiming that I did it. I open several sites and after a while I find a message from Kaspersky. This is not a specific "scenario". It's just normal web surfing, when from time to time I find messages from Kaspersky. > You can check the report via More Tools → Reports → Web Anti-Virus. There is no “More Tools” item in the Kaspersky UI. There is no “Web Anti-Virus” item in the “Reports and Quarantine” panel of the Kaspersky UI. > You can disable the unwanted multiple notifications via Settings → Interface → Notification settings → Web Anti-Virus. There is only the item “Enable notification sounds” in the “Settings → Interface → Notification settings”.
  6. I keep getting messages in the system notification area that "Download denied". It is very good that you have taken care of the security of my computer. In fact, if you hadn't, I wouldn't have installed your software. That is, you tell me that you are doing your job. I am grateful to you. However, you send me this message over and over again. Why are you doing this? What's your goal? Tell me that you are doing your job? Okay, you reported one, two, but dozens of times? Or do you want to tell me that you cannot do your job? Then your message should sound like this: "We could not cope with this problem, your computer is infected." If not, why are you distracting my attention? Or do you want to tell me that the resource you are visiting is dangerous. Again, what's the point in distracting my attention if you don't even provide me with any useful information? This is not the first time this has happened. This is a recurring problem.
  7. Hello, Basamaca, I didn't do anything special. My Kaspersky is set to update automatically and that was enough. PS Earlier, when trying to find a workaround, I set some exclusions in Kaspersky, but then removed them to test the fix.
  8. Hello, @Basamaca, I tried a clean install of uTorrent rev. 3.5.5. It looks like the issue has been fixed. BitTorrent and uTorrent are developed by the same company and share a significant portion of the code. They usually behave the same way towards other software.
  9. Hello, Flood and Flood's wife, Thank you for your nice reply. Happy New Year and apologize for the late reply, I was so busy with the holiday activities. ? Is the issue fixed? Yes, I believe it has completely fixed. If the “answer(s)” from Support, did not answer your questions, go back to them and keep asking until they do. No, no explanation was provided. But since the issue is not in effect, I believe that asking for more information would be an abuse of my rights as a client of Kaspersky. a Community admin & or Moderator, may make the decision, and it may well be, it’s a decision you don’t agree with. It will be fine for me. From my part I provide my best guesses of what happened: 1. Since the Kaspersky support service notified me that my request was sent to the development team, they could already fix the problem in the software and provide an automatic update. It is their right to notify or not notify me of their actions. 2. A combination of software and hardware on my system could be causing the problem. Since I did not find a stream of responses from other clients in this discussion, I could assume that this is a relatively rare case. Although this causes some inconvenience for the client, it does not directly affect the basic functions of the antivirus and can be left without any specific action on the part of the development team. But I can't take the responsibility of deciding if it's right or wrong, it's just outside my area of expertise. If I do this, I could mislead other clients.
  10. Dear Oleg2, You received at least one reply on your question "System notifications message "Using Google Chrome? Activate the Kaspersky Protection extension..." appears every half an hour..."". If one of the replies was helpful, don’t forget to visit the community and mark it as the Best Answer. Select best answer https://community.kaspersky.com/questions/11834 Marking a reply as the best answer helps others to find answers more quickly. I believe that the Kaspersky community should play the role of a public database, providing answers to customers of Kaspersky products. I didn’t get any explanation for the situation I was facing. Therefore, I can not consider the case closed.
  11. Hello, Flood and Flood's wife, Thank you for your question. Have you logged a case with Kaspersky Technical Support? Yes, the case number is INC000012262170. They haven't responded yet. We respectfully suggest uTorrent is a poor “alternative” It holds about 2/3 of the market. There must be a reason for this.
  12. Hello, harlan4096, Also when was that review published? The article mentions version 4.1.5 released on December 24, 2018. maybe some issues were already fixed… If they haven't fixed it in 12 years, how could you expect them to do it in just 2 years? Did You install and try it Yes. I've done this several times over the years and was not impressed with results. If You will get all those “supposed” issues? No, I don’t remember any major issues from the last try, but you obviously need time to encounter them. Not in just a few days. My friends do not recommend qBittorrent for reasons very similar to the article. I just refer to a public source. You going to download more than 300 torrents at the same time? It is not clear from the problem description if they are talking about simultaneous loading. Your list might keep 300 items and your torrent will get corrupted when you download the 301st. In fact, if someone as lazy as me doesn't clean up his backlog, he can easily exceed that number. Current trends towards cheap fast internet show a tendency not to store everything on your own hard drive, but to rely on distributed repository. Anyway, thank you for sharing your experience and for your nice advice. It looks like Rainberry / BitTorrent Inc is facing tough times and we need to be prepared for an alternative. Nobody has to put all his eggs in one basket, and qBittorrent is a good choice to easily switch from uTorrent.
  13. Hello, harlan4096, Thank you for your advice. Why we do not use qBittorrent? Has issues with large torrent numbers Various issues occur with large torrent numbers (anywhere between 300 and 1000 torrents) including timestamp and file corruptions. Torrent downloads can freeze Multiple people have reported that torrents stop downloading and stay in a "stalled" state indefinitely. Can freeze in the background when exiting the program Forcing you to kill the task in the sysmon. Needs to be reinstalled from time to time Sometimes it just stops downloading, the fix is uninstalling and installing again. It's a pain, but ends up working. Constant IO error www.slant.co/options/3724/~qbittorrent-review
  14. Just for the record. --------------------------------- Dear customer, Thank you for contacting Kaspersky Lab Technical Support. The following request was registered: ID INC000012262170, Multiple messages "The source of loading advertisements is blocked" in Windows notifications. I recently installed the bittorrent.exe application and found a lot of messages in the Windows notification area. I would not worry about you silently blocking this transmission or silently passing it. Just please do not clobber my Windows notifications area. The system log for a message is the following: Event : The source of loading advertisements is blocked Component : Security Application : bittorrentie.exe Full path to the application : C:\Users\XXXXXXXX\AppData\Roaming\BitTorrent\updates\7.10.5_45857\bittorrentie.exe Source for downloading ads : i-1006.b-0.ad.bench.utorrent.com User type : Not defined I tried to change settings in "Network settings/Manage exclusions" and added "bench.utorrent.com" into "Domain name" field. Doesn't help even after restarting Windows.
  15. > Regarding “ *did not* install it in other browsers”, impossible for us to verify At the time of your question, I had already deleted the KPM, so it was difficult for me to answer your questions. 🙂 Nevertheless 1. As I said, > > When KPM is active, it will bring up pop-ups asking to save information (passwords, credit card numbers, etc.). Thus, if you do not see KPM pop-ups, it means that KPM is *not* active. So at least I had a hint that it is not active. Maybe it could be installed automatically, maybe, but it is definitely not active. 2. As I noticed, when uninstalling, KPM does not remove its extensions in browsers. So I uninstalled KPM and then uninstalled the KPM extension in Chrome. Now I checked Edge. No, it has no extensions at all. I checked Opera. It has “Opera Ad Blocker” only. I checked Firefox. It has “OpenH264” and “Widevine” add-ons.
  16. Hello, Flood and Flood's wife, Thank you so much for taking the time to investigate my mishaps. > 1. Exit all browsers. > 2. Beside Details, select the tiny V, select Ignore There is no Chrome in Recommendations. > Let us know the outcome please? Ok, let me provide you with the latest update. 1. Kaspersky's customer support came to life and asked me a number of questions. I think I used to be too optimistic, expecting some action from them on Friday night. 🙂 2. It looks like Kaspersky Security Cloud has finally ceased to attack me with the activation requests. I turned on messages from KSC 3 hours ago and I have no system warnings yet. ✨ So, the case is closed for me. It probably took too long for KSC to discover that the Chrome extension was updated. Or maybe they've already released a small patch for their software. Thanks again for your support and nice responses. Under normal circumstances, I would say I hope to hear from you again. But, as you can see, not in such cases LOL.
  17. Hello, Flood and Flood's wife, 1. Yes. I removed the KPM and do not plan to use it anytime soon. 2. Probably not. Unless they add a large button "Disable KPM for this site". You understand that removing / installing KPM for every site in question is too complex job. 3. Free. 4. When KPM is active, it will bring up pop-ups asking to save information (passwords, credit card numbers, etc.). Thus, if you do not see KPM pop-ups, it means that KPM is *not* active. 5. I never install some application when some pop-up advised me to do so. Therefore, I always know for sure whether I have installed something or not. I *did* install the KMP extension in Chrome and *did not* install it in other browsers.
  18. Hello, @Flood and Flood's wife, 1. I believe that the "Password autofill" feature does not affect credit card information as it does not contain a password. I have not seen dialogs in Opera and Edge. 2. As I said, I deleted the PM, so I cannot provide its version. However, I installed it recently and I am not in the habit of turning off automatic updates. So I believe this was the last revision. 3. The PM extension was perfectly installed in Chrome and perfectly *not* installed in Edge, Opera and Firefox. Nevertheless, the result was the same. > Did you try to solve the problem? How? Most of the time we tried to verify my credit card details and its good standing. After that, we tried to fix the software problems. > Text from an error message This was the worst. No error messages, just no response to button presses.
  19. After I fill in new credit card fields on the Acumatica website and then click “Save card” button, nothing happens. I spent a whole day with Acumatica support trying to figure out what the problem is. I tried browsers Chrome, Edge and Opera. Then I installed Firefox, and Kaspersky Password Manager starts raising a series of dialogs asking me to save info into it. I uninstalled PM and rebooted Windows. After that, everything was fine.
  20. Hello, Flood and Flood's wife. 1. 21.2.16.590 (b) 2. 1.3.8.0 3. 4. 5. With chat and then several emails. After I notified them that their advise “to remove extension and install new” did not work, they stopped to answer me. 6. Yes, they had. 7. Free.
  21. While my Chrome extension is installed and activated. US customer support advised me to remove my existent extension and install new from provided link. I did so but nothing changes - at this moment there are 8 new messages in my system notification area. I notified customer support about the problem but they do not answer me.
