I have noticed that after uninstalling KES, Veeam still fails to install. Now, I want to verify the following KES reporting when installing Veeam is unharmful or needs some action.
“Info: changes to product resource is blocked by self-defenses” “Windows Explorer explorer.exe C:\Windows” “ScenarioEngine.exe ScenarioEngine.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\130\Setup Bootstrap\SQLServer2016\x64” “SQL Server Windows NT - 64 Bit sqlservr.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL13.VEEAMSQL2016\MSSQL\Binn” “Veeam Update Installation Wizard HFWizard.exe C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Setup\Temp\cc0967c6-a853xxxxx

Veeam Backup & Replication 11a installation fails saying “Failed to start VeeamTransportSvc”. I have made scan exclusions settings for Veeam but does not work. Kaspersky report is saying “Info: changes to product resource is blocked by self-defenses” “Windows Explorer explorer.exe C:\Windows” “ScenarioEngine.exe ScenarioEngine.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\130\Setup Bootstrap\SQLServer2016\x64” “SQL Server Windows NT - 64 Bit sqlservr.exe C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL13.VEEAMSQL2016\MSSQL\Binn” “Veeam Update Installation Wizard HFWizard.exe C:\ProgramData\Veeam\Setup\Temp\cc0967c6-a853xxxxx
”
Environment: Kaspersky Security Center Cloud, Kaspersky Endpoint Security 11.7.0.669, Windows Server2019, Veeam Backup & Replication 11a.

Hello, Mari.
Thank you for your reply. As I did not provide my environment information, I could not find the menu mentioned in the link you provided. I am using KES 11.6 and Kaspersky Security Center Cloud Console. The link you provided me still helps and I could find the corresponding menu on Kaspersky Security Center Cloud Console. DEVICES -> POLICIES & PROFILES -> Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows (11.6.0) -> APPLICATION SETTINGS -> General settings -> Interface -> Password protection. The following link also partially helps. Anyway, thank you again for your help.

Referring the link, is there any way to prevent Kaspersky Endpoint Security from exiting by user operation?

I have got an answer from KES support team saying the log message “self-defenses xxx” is not harmful and needs no action. I got a further information about this log message. https://support.kaspersky.com/help/KESWin/11.8.0/en-US/34598.htm
