  1. @Mikey89Yes you can try , but KAV and WD  both run in real-time protection modus which “could” create conflicts 🤔

    @Berny

    Well WD is running currently, only the App & Browser control feature is turned OFF at the moment.

    I have had both KAV and WD running simultanously in the past before and have no had any problems.

    But i don’t seem to recall this App & Browser control feature being available back in Windows 10  v2004… i wonder if it’s new in v20H2 ? 🤔

  2. @Mikey89  Please make sure that Kaspersky is ON !

    @Berny

    I mean can i turn back ON the App & Browser control setting in Windows Security AFTER i’m finished installing KAV ?

    Will it conflict with KAV if i turn it ON ? It is currently turned OFF and windows security keeps telling me i should turn it ON.

  3. @Mikey89Just keep your HDD on your PC and use it to store e.g. personal files , backups , installers … etc.

    @BernyThat’s exactly my plan. 🙂

    My old HDD though was split in 3 partitions and 1 of which was the old C drive where the previous OS was installed.

    I just need to know if i can keep that partition intact and NOT format it in case in need anymore info from it.

    The M.2 SSD where the current OS is installed is only 1 partition of 2TB so i plan on not splitting it up in multiple partitions. I will probably use it for storage also since it’s pretty big.

  4. @Mikey89KAV will only be running on one drive → your SSD
    Your code will be valid for the install on your SSD.

    @Berny Thank you Berny !

    So can i just leave the old drive with the old KAV installation and let it be ?

    I don’t know exactly when i will format it since i might need some more info from it so i think i’d rather just keep it for the time being.

  5. @Mikey89If your HDD operating system will not be active any more there will be no problem for the SSD installation.

    @Berny So i can go ahead and safely install KAV directly on the SSD WITHOUT having to delete the KAV installation folder ?

    Can i leave the old KAV installation folder and let it be ?

    I was thinking maybe it will cause erors or corrupted files if there will be 2 KAV installations.

    Also my code was for 3 PCs, will it still work again now ?

  6. @Mikey89If your system will only be  running on the  SSD operating system, please install KAV on your SSD. Please don’t run the KavRemover !

    @Berny So i should NOT delete the KAV installation folder from the HDD ?

    I wasn’t sure if to delete it because i don’t know if i will be able to install KAV on the SSD. Not sure if it will cause erors or maybe corrupted files when i try to install on SSD if the installation folder is still present on the HDD.

  7. Flood thank you ! I already had found that article but here is where my problem is:

    I cannot uninstall KAV from windows’s programs and features because on my current OS  KAV is not installed on the SSD… KAV is ONLY installed on the HDD. So i need to remove it from the HDD. Should i delete the KAV installation folder manually or should i use kavremover ?

    KAV is NOT installed on the SSD currently, it is only installed on HDD so Windows 10 does not see it as a program - this is why i don’t know if i should delete the installation folder manually or use kavremover.

    Hello @Mikey89

    Just for absolute clarity, on the original device, do you have KAV folders/files in:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab ?

    C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3 ?

    Please let us know?

    Thank you🙏

    @Flood and Flood's wife On the old HDD i have KAV installed in

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab

    And there i have 3 folders

    • Kaspersky Anti-Virus 21.3
    • Kaspersky Password Manager 9.0.2
    • Kaspersky VPN 5.3
  8. @Mikey89Is your OS starting on your SSD now , and is your HDD mounted as backup drive  ?

    @Berny Both SSD and HDD are in the PC installed on the motherboard.

    The problem is that before i had KAV installed on the HDD. Now i have reinstalled the OS on the SSD and i want to install KAV again.

    But i am not sure if i should delete the old KAV installation folder from the HDD or can i just go ahead and install KAV directly on the SSD without any issues ?

    Or if i should just remove KAV manually or with kavremover ?

  9. Hello, I have recently installed Windows 10 on a new M.2 SSD that i got. Before this i had Kaspersky Anti-Virus installed on my older HDD. Before i put my SSD i forgot to uninstall KAV from my HDD but now i need to install KAV on the SSD. So here is what i would need to know.

    1) Should i delete the KAV installation folder from the HDD or can i directly install it on the new SSD without any problems ?

    2) Should i use the kavremover tool first to remove KAV from the HDD or can i just go ahead and install it on the SSD ?

    Hello @Mikey89

    Welcome back!

    As you still have access to the original device, please read & follow: How to transfer a Kaspersky product license from one device to another

    Thank you🙏

  11. Hello @Mikey89

    You’re most welcome☺ !

    password change at 180 days” is a default, however, as long as you used the same email address as what you used when you created your Kaspersky Community account, the user name does not change.

    In fact, the user name cannot be changed, unless it’s done by the Kaspersky Community Admin/Expert team & possibly Moderators also have the authority to make such a change.

    It’s best to ask @Igor Kurzin & or @Danila T. please, they will be able to assist you.

    Thank you🙏

    Well the website asked me to pick a username and it was even telling me that the account was created today even though i have it for like 1-2 years.

    Anyway i will just leave it like this for now because i’m ok with how it is.

  12. Hello, So my current license will expire in a few days and i’m planning to add a new one since i already have bought it.

    1. My question is : should i put the new license code 1-2 days before the current license expires or should i wait for the current one to expire and then enter the new license code ?
    2. Does entering the new license code before the current one expires cause any activation issues ?

    Hello @Mikey89

    Welcome!

    We’ve confirmed with a Technical Support Supervisor, there is a grace period of up to 14 days before all features will be disabled from the date of current license expiry.

    It’s personal choice, however, we prefer to wait until the existing license expires, that eliminates any possibility of activation code conflict.

    Thank you🙏

    Thanks Flood for the quick reply.

    Wanted to ask one more thing that i forgot.

    I already had an account on this forum made like 1-2 years ago. Today when i wanted to log in i saw that i needed to change my password because the “password change at 180 days” was turned ON it seems.

    Now i’m not sure what my old username was in the older account but it probably must have changed.

    Does that mean that the old account was deleted ?

    The one i am posting from now i checked and it was created today. I wouldn’t have had to create one i think if the website didn’t force me to change password because of the 180 days option.
