  1. Seeing a link on another topic about Secure Keyboard Limitations in 2020 has confused me and prompted me to ask the following question: I currently have KIS 19.0.0.1088(h), Window 7 but have ticked for automatic upgrade to KIS2020 . I am now worried by the statement in the link mentioned in my first sentence that says: Protection does not work if your computer is running under Windows 7 and the field is not a password entry field I use the Secure Keyboard in both Safe Money sites and other sites occasionally. My concern is if KIS automatically upgrades me to KIS2020 and I still use Windows 7 will I still be able to use Secure Keyboard if the field is a password entry field? I do not find the K articles easy to understand and cannot really work out under what circumstances an automatic upgrade to KIS2020 while I still have Windows 7 Thanks mikethebike
  2. In addition to what FLOOD has said, you might want to consider installing the latest patch which is now (e) Regards mikethebikeIsn't it supposed to update itself automatically ? Yes if you have the auto update button checked but while I don't know in which region/country you are based,it just seems to be taking a long time for patch (e) to come to you. I would have thought that all areas would have it by now I had the experience of my auto-update completely skipping version KIS 18 and went from KIS 17 to KIS 19 so the auto-update can be problematical Maybe a moderator can say if patch (e) is still coming for your area or whether you may have to do a manual update. I should add that I am not saying that getting patch(e) will necessarily solve the problem but I think it worthwhile to have the latest patch - just in case - so to speak mikethebike
  3. In addition to what FLOOD has said, you might want to consider installing the latest patch which is now (e) Regards mikethebike
  4. Also, plus Caos above, I have no wish to hijack this thread or interfere in it and which for the OP is very worrying but for the peace of mind of the rest us who have KIS security, can I ask the OP arsoni.ignID to state what K package he/she has, if any? mikethebike
  5. suel25, I suspect that your transfer to patch(e) was always going to happen anyway but for some reason was simply very slow. It would help on occasions if other U.K. users of KIS were to come forward and say if they still haven't got the latest patch when a member is concerned about not being upgraded. At least that way the member knows that the problem is not theirs alone and may not be due to any issue with their own set-up For what it is worth I have always had all the update boxes ticked so that I should have received the auto update to KIS2018 but for some reason I remained on KIS17 until suddenly K decided to update me to KIS19 Why the delay in my case, I'll never know but it may show that such delays do occur as seems to be the case with you and patch (e) mikethebike
  6. It might be worth looking at your settings. This is the "gear wheel " icon on the bottom left of the screen. Click on this and then click on Protection and this will give you a list. At the bottom of that list you should see Software Updater. Click on this and you will see a section on Update There are two boxes which you can tick. Then under the lower section there is Search for application updates. You can tick either Important updates that improve security or all updates. If these boxes are already ticked then by now I'd have thought that you should have been automatically upgraded to patch (e) If they are ticked then maybe a moderator can say why you still haven't got patch(e) but of course even with patch (d) you are still protected so nothing to worry about. mikethebike.
  7. suel25, I am glad things seem to be working again. You haven't said where you are but I am surprised that your Kaspersky Internet Security (KIS) hasn't updated to patch(e). You currently have patch (d) I am in the U.K. and I was automatically updated to patch e a few weeks ago Maybe someone more knowledgeable than I will be able to comment on this mikethebike
  8. suel25, sorry to hear of your problem. It might be helpful if you say which K package and version you have. I take it that nothing else happened with K immediately before your problem that might have triggered a change? . Can you say if you get the green line on all 4 sides when you click on your bank in Safe Money? mikethebike
  9. savansavani, I am being blocked ( 1:07pm British Summer Time) from opening it as well. I also have the same KIS as nexon mikethebike
  10. FLOOD, yes the link you provide in your post above was the one that I had in mind but when I looked at it again the link that I had clicked on which took me to 5.1.93.0 seemed to have disappeared and yet with my non existent knowledge of K extensions, a direct link had to be the only way I could have downloaded it which led to my problem of a grey shield In practical terms it could be said that none of this now matters but it just leaves me puzzled when the route to my problem seems to have vanished like the road on a map that was once there but on opening the map again has vanished mikethebike.
  11. Thanks for your replies, FLOOD I think that you are saying from your research that extension 5.1.93.0 is in fact an earlier extension from March 2018 whereas the extension 20.0.543.401 is from, I think, November 2018 which is later. So 5.1.93.0 is now non functional as a consequence which makes sense. So yes I can understand why you are puzzled about my whole thread. All I can say is that I was reading another thread a couple of weeks ago which I feel sure mentioned extension 5.1.93.0 in relation to a performance problem. There was a link in it to 5.1.93.0 and it seemed to suggest that this might improve matters so when I discovered I had 20.0.543.401 I assumed that 5.1.93.0 was the later version. There even seemed to be a mention of 5.1.93.0 being April 2019. All of this appears to be nonsense now and it looks as if I was seeing things that were not there I find this a little worrying, for me ,that is, if I am finding things in the Community that do not exist. All I was hoping to do was to get was a moderator such as Berny to say that I had misunderstood matters and that 5.I,93.0 should be ignored as out of date and was irrelevant. Maybe Berny will still confirm that when K changes the Chrome extension then it automatically updates my KIS to that latest extension without any action required on my part. This may seem so obvious to those familiar with how K works that it doesn't require stating but it is/was not obvious to me. I was not trying to say you did not know enough to answer my questions and your findings have been very helpful but I had assumed that there may be some questions about how K works that only a moderator knows and that my questions were in that category Thanks mikethebike
  12. Thanks FLOOD for your reply. Yes it is Chrome browser that I use. It looks from your screen shots that you have the 20.0.543.401 extension and you are on patch(e) so maybe that is still the correct one for patch(e) The Easter holidays may be why nobody else such as a moderator has not replied and after Tuesday my questions will be answered by those with the knowledge mikethebike
  13. I had thought my questions in my post above would be fairly easy to answer but if not, can I ask if anyone who has received the 2019 KIS patch (e) has found that they have been given the 5.1.93.0 extension automatically or if not, have downloaded it with no adverse consequences and if so what differences it made? It is just not clear to me how to find the latest Chrome extension and more importantly whether there is any alert that K gives when a new Chrome extension is available. Clearly if there is an automatic upgrade to the latest extension then none of this matters which brings me back to one of my original questions I cannot find the thread in which it was mentioned but I am sure I can recall that a link to 5.1.93.0 was given in that post. The earlier release was November 2018 and the later release 5.1.93.0 was early April 2019. Thanks for any replies mikethebike
  14. I have reverted back to Chrome Extension 20.0.543.401 which resolved the problem I had when I tried to install 5.1.93.0. The problem was that my green shield on websites became grey. At that stage I was still on KIS 19.0.0.1088 (d) which may not have been ready to accept extension 5.1.93.0 I have a number of questions: Is there in fact any benefit in using 5.1.93.0 and if there is, where do I find it? Now that I am on patch (e) can I be sure that my green shield will not go grey again i.e. is patch (e) compatible with 5.1.93.0? Finally do I need to do anything anyway or will KIS after my upgrade to (e) eventually and automatically change my extension to the latest level? Thanks mikethebike
  15. Thanks Schulte. I did a restart anyway so should be OK now. I was simply curious about why at least one person seemed to require a restart immediately after the download but there was no mention of this in my case. mikethebike
  16. I received patch e late this afternoon but there was no instruction to restart to make it effective and the K icon says that I now have patch e. The first post which started the thread mentioned a re-start. Maybe K has been able to remove the need to re-start. Anyone else in the U.K. with patch e given the instruction to re-start the computer? Thanks mikethebike,
  17. Richbuff has given us a good overview of the release strategy for patch e and Berny is keeping us in the picture but it would help me and possibly others in the U.K. if those in the U.K. subscribing to this thread . were to say when they receive it. One person will be enough. I ask this on the basis that for some reason I seemed to receive the automatic update to KIS 19 much later than others i.e. KIS 18 completely passed me by and I went from 2017 to 2019. While I have no reason to believe that I might be on the end of the queue this time, if I still have not got patch e several days after the first report of it arriving in the U.K. then I can then begin to make enquiries. Thanks mikethebike
  18. My windows update KB4493472 says it is the Monthly Quality Rollup for Windows 7 for x64-based systems. It makes no mention of any other version of Windows. This is not to say it doesn't apply to other versions and it may say Windows 7 in my case simply because that is my version. However no problems with it so far but what causes it to freeze Windows may be related to something such as your game that I do not have. mikethebike
  19. Thanks Berny. A check on my Chrome settings tells me that the K extension is ON so I assume it is fully working despite the shield being grey. So my understanding of what you have said is that if I wait for patch E in the next few days/week then I can expect it to correct my problem and the shield will be restored to its green colour and everything will be back to normal Thanks mikethebike
  20. Thanks Berny. As you will have worked out your reply did not appear to be there when I sent my last post despite your reply preceding my last post by what appears to be at least 20+ minutes There must be a long delay in the system. At least I know how to contact Tech Support now as well. Thanks again mikethebike
  21. Berny, a check of the archives got me to a visual demonstration of the procedure which shows a screen for ticking the retain licence information box so I think I am OK now. It would appear that the difference in what K shows i in its demonstration is that I should go to Programs and Features for the uninstall rather than clicking on the Windows icon and then list of programmes and remove option .
  22. Thanks Berny . At the risk of appearing stupid I think you are saying that when I click on continue after it has asked : are you sure you want to remove KIS protection there will be the option to check a box that allows me to keep my licence information? Can you confirm this to be the case . I ask this as I am incredibly nervous about something that is completely new to me . This may seem obvious to anyone who has uninstalled and re-installed but my fear is that what I think you are saying may not be what you are saying. Yes I have the code given to me 4 years ago and I have had KIS continuously ever since so I take it there is no chance that my code is not now active or has been changed? Just in case it were to go all wrong and the code I have does not work for whatever reason then until I contact Tech Support and they assist I would be without KIS and in that case I would not want to use the internet until Tech Support had given me a code. Any idea how long this would all take? Confirmation that the option to tick a box that allows me to keep the licence information is built in to the KIS uninstall procedure is the essential bit of information that I need
  23. Sorry Berny, can you expand on what you mean by keeping this option checked. I do not understand what you refer to as "this option"nor how to keep it checked. It may have been my fault for not making what I see on my screen clear enough. When I go to the windows symbol on my toolbar and click it , it gives me the list of programmes. One of these is Kasperky Internet Security. When I click on that one of the options is: Remove Kaspersky Internet Security which of course is what I need to do. So far so good. When I click on this it starts what appears to be the Remove Wizard and then asks me; Are you sure you want to remove KIS? Removal will lower your protection. What I do not know is, if I continue will it then give me the chance to keep the licence information? If it does not give me that chance then what do I need to do to keep the licence information? Thanks mikethebike
