  1. Update - After this exchange, I uninstalled the app from my computer, which stopped the error.  I then forgot about it for a few months and didn’t reinstall.  I finally reinstalled about a month ago and the error didn’t come back.  Earlier this week, I had a problem with Verizon and they rebooted my ONC (telephone junction box for FIOS) and the error came back immediately upon reboot.  ???

It is now also happening on my sons computer.

I’ll be opening a support request now.

    THanks

  2. @Flood and Flood's wife

Hi, thanks for the response.  I just updated the client on both his computer and his mobile device, making sure the OS was up to date and that we’re using the latest Kaspersky client.  It’s definitely very strange.  I’m wondering if I’m doing something that is causing it to shut off.  Since my child is schooling from home due to the pandemic, he is on his laptop all day.  In order to keep him focused on his work I turn off all functionality except what he exactly needs during school and then in the afternoon run back on apps and websites leaving the restrictions in place.

I’ll take screen captures of the current settings so that I have a record and do the same when I see it happen again.  Hopefully just a fluke.

I’ll update if I see it again.

I see you updated your moniker.  Are congratulations in order?

    Best regards,  Mike

  3. Hi,

Question regarding content blocking.  On at least two occasions I have gone into settings to find that adult content has been reset to allowed from forbidden.  Is it possible that there is some glitch that is causing this?  I use a really complicated password for the system, so it is hard for me to imagine that my child has somehow figured it out and reset it themselves.

    Thanks,

    MikeinDC

  4.  Hi, I am getting the error message below repeatedly on my computer while using a non-monitored adult account.  I use Norton Security for my virus protection and have a paid subscription for Kaspersky Kidsafe installed to monitor my kid’s accounts.  As this is a non-monitored account, the solution I’ve found to whitelist the site isn’t applicable.  It is happening several times an hour and is particularly troublesome as the pop-up steals focus each time.  I am running Windows 10 and using Chrome.  Any ideas beyond uninstalling the application?

    Thanks for your assistance.

  5. @FLOOD Happy Saturday!

Yes, I tested in on Microsoft Edge and Chrome and both are being blocked.  Here are a few screen shots to show what we are seeing.  Some basic functionality of the site is being blocked such that certain controls are inactivated.  No errors or notifications at all in KSK.

In the first screenshot I’ve zoomed in on the account icon.  NOrmally there is a little man figure in the square by default, but when logged in under KSK monitoring the figure disappears and clicking on the icon does nothing.

In the second picture I’m showing the area where you can search for and pick from games to play.  This area doesn’t populate at all.  If you click on one of the games to play on the main screen, you can get to the overview page for the game, but trying to play anything does nothing.

Third screenshot shows what the screen looks like when logged in on the same computer with an account that is not monitored.

  6. Hi, Curious if anyone may know what this issue is.  With the home isolation of due to the Corona virus, my children would like to use the website Tabletopia.com to play table games online with their friends.  I added the website as an allowed website, but when they try to use it, functions are severely restricted and they are unable to click on many links.  They don’t receive any error messages, the functionality just doesn’t work.  For instance, they can’t even click into the account information.  If I log into the parent account on the same computer and sign into their account, everything works.  Obviously, I have everything installed that is needed since it works on my account.  Any ideas what I need to enable to make this work for my kids?

  7. Hi @FLOOD ,

See the attached video which shows the activity in question.   Hopefully you can access it.  Unfortunately it is too big for me to attached.

Also, in regards to one of your other queries, the settings which control this feature are outside of the phones main settings and thus are not blocked.  So, even though I can disable the feature, my son will be able to turn it back on if he figures out how.

I also opened a case with Kaspersky support, but they want me to install a debugging application on the phone.  I really don’t have time to do this, but hopefully, since this isn’t something unique to his phone, they should be able to figure it out between my description and the video.

    Best,  Mike

  8. Hi Flood,

    1. The by main applications page, I mean the phone screen you see when you first open your phone.  I don’t have his phone currently.

    1. Google Fi is the Google mobile phone service application.  That is our wireless carrier.

    1. Settings on his phone was not blocked, as he needs it occasionally, though I see that may be what it takes to keep him from using this feature if some other blocking can’t be managed.
  9. Hi Flood, Thanks for the response. My son is 17.  The news feed is accessed by swiping right on the main application page.  Google News is not installed on his phone, see screenshot.  I use the same phone and I notice at least some of the same information is avaiLable via the “Discover” option from the search feature also.  See this link: https://blog.google/products/search/introducing-google-discover/

  10. Hi, I’ve tried that already.  There is no app listed for Google News Feed.  In fact, usage of this feature doesn’t even show on the usage tracking.  As far as I can tell it is completely ignored by Kaspersky.  It doesn’t even seem to be counted for his overall daily usage because he is able to still access after he has reached a daily limit.

  11. Hi, I am using Kaspersky Safe Kids Premium to manage my kid’s android phone and he seems to have found a loophole that allows him to still watch Youtube and access some web content.  I have browsers and YouTube blocked (everything is blocked except communication, email and educational software).  He is still able to access Google News Feed and this allows him to watch some YouTube videos and read articles.  News Feed seems to bypass both Youtube and Chrome to supply content.  I cannot find an app to block to that will shut down News Feed.  Anyone have suggestions?

He is using the latest version of Kaspersky Safe Kids on a Motorola x4 running Android 9.

    Thanks,

    Mike
