  1. Matrixology, after working with support and having their engineers look into it, I was informed that the part that is failing are components we aren't using (we do have the mobile device plug in, but no devices, so not sure if that's it). I was not informed what was failing though :/ . Our desktops and VMs are getting updates, we were able to confirm by update version on the systems. so, for now it’s a bother, but not effecting protection - for our site anyways.

I recommend checking your SVM or light agent for the date of updates applied to them. You may be okay too, but checking there, is the only way to be sure.

They did have a work around if we were still having issues, its a separate program that downloads the updates, then deposits them to the KL repository so it can push them to systems. That may be a solution for some.

Dear thanks for the response. I have checked SVMs and Light Agent VMs but database is still old. Can I have your email ID for detailed chat on your update procedures etc. May be I am missing something on configuration side.

  2. Seniors I need help. Did the Offline Update work successfully? I am trying to update Kaspersky Security for Virtualization Light Agent 5.0 (SVM) but error 'Functional failure: Required files missing from the update source'.

    Point to consider

    1. I am updating Kaspersky Security Center for first time. Default updates date to 27-4-2018.

    2. When 'Download Updates to Repository' task is run it completes with statement 'Not Every Component is Update'.

    3. I am using Kaspersky Update Utility latest version to download Light Agent 5.0.52 updates. (Download Differentiated updates option is disabled)

    Am I missing something?

  3. Hi Caos, thanks for responding. The procedure is followed is.

    1. Download Kaspersky Virtualization 5.0.52, Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Windows 11.0 and KSC 10.5 updates from KUU. The resulting Update folder is almost 2 GB.

    2. I place the folder in Administration Server machine and run the 'Download Updates to the repository task' after pointing to the aforementioned folder as update source. The repository task completes with message 'some files are missing from update source. Not every component is update'.

    3. Now i check update repository for updates by navigating to Advanced > Kaspersky Lab updates and patches. It has 18 updates of various types.

    4. Now I run Update task on SVM. It returns error. Functional Error : "A File Required is Missing from Update Source ".

However, same update folder worked successfully on one environment which means downloads are fine. There is some issue with Protection Server updating mechanics or may be some settings.

  4. My environment.

    Esx 6.5

    vcenter 6.5

    KSC 10.5.1781

    Kaspersky security for virtualization 5.0.52.9370

The problem is that when i install SVM it finishes successfully but on svm group yellow icon is displayed with message ' No connection to virtual infrastructure '. I have tried many resolutions. I changed time of svm, gave manamgement interface to svm as well but error is still there. What could be the reason.

Also is there any setting to be done on NSX?

    Please help.

  5. Using KESW and Light Agent on different VDI environments. Virtual machines are NOT destroyed or reinitialized after usage but they change IP after restart.

I am having VDI where we use persistent machines with a DHCP IP scheme. So the IP and DNS of machine changes everytime it is restarted. Now this shows duplicate machines in KSC. I want to know how to tackle this situation. My aim is that a single VM regardless of its current IP should be dispalyed uniquely and persistently on KSC. The KSC should auto detect that its IP and DNS has changed.
