    temp files created by kaspersky free , could be checked please?

    Why would You edit a temp file? They are placed in their proper system \Temp folder... just delete them from time to time, and done 🙂

     

    Also, I edited one of them, and I'm not sure they are related to Kaspersky:

    these files do disapear if i uninstall kaspersky free edition on w7 sp1 64bit or i disable it and exit from the icon

    i guess it's the software that does generate these files , just beause i tried to uninstall everything , restored with r-drive image and restored , steps by steps , and when i removed/unintalled kaspersky these files did disapear

    I guess it's one of kaspersky update

    sadly It could be not edited

    I wanted to say that is kaspersky free edition ,it does create such files ,and it does keep to create at every boot

    in short after a while there is a log list of them

    I know because i have disabled and such file are not created at every boot

    could be disabled such kaspersky behavior ?

    ps operation system scanned with/by  kaspersky updated and malwarebyte (just installed once to perform a scan) and the result it Clean

    i have noticed in the c:\Windows\Temp\ some files like

    c:\Windows\Temp\XYZFF08.tmp
    c:\Windows\Temp\XYZFF09.tmp
    c:\Windows\Temp\XYZFEE7.tmp
    c:\Windows\Temp\XYZFEE8.tmp

    I guess they are related to kasperky free version windows 7 sp1 64bit

    the do appear after a while after the login ,and they are text files

    might somebody check these files please?

    Error related to antimalware_provider.dll Windows signing level requirements

    under windows 10 pro 64bit and 7 64bit pro , in the log i got lots of errors related to antimalware_provider.dll

    windows 10 pro 64bit  error

    Code Integrity determined that a process (\Device\HarddiskVolume2\Windows\System32\svchost.exe) attempted to load \Device\HarddiskVolume2\Program Files (x86)\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Security Cloud 21.3\x64\antimalware_provider.dll that did not meet the Windows signing level requirements.

    run sfc /scannow and Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup /ResetBase & DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth

    Yes. 

    The original free software was Kaspersky Free, it still exists, however, Kaspersky have since developed & distributed Kaspersky Security Cloud Free, it’s not going away; whereas, (according to Kaspersky) at some stage, in the future, Kaspersky Free will.

    Hello, @mantra 

    This folder save system watcher function log file (similar a database file). the behavior of any application will be logged in this file. So this situation will occur.

    The reason for frequent disk reads and writes is that there are some behaviors in the running applications every moment.

    is there a way to make or add for example  qbittorrent   in a system watcher white list ?

    i tried to add in the exclusion and truested apps , but it did not fix it

    Thank you for posting back!

    The .dat files & other files, are not managed via Interface → Notification settings → Events → Save to local report. 

    Why are you concerned about the .dat files, or any other Kaspersky application files, how are those files impacting your use of the Kaspersky software - please explain, because, atm, we do not understand?

    it’s because there is an excessive i/o writining on the ssd , kaspersky does keep writining constantly and does wear quickly an ssd

    and the file size could be huge

    it’s a statement , it doesn’t save all the reports ,but it does and checked with process hacker or explorer , kaspersky write log files even if everything is disabled.

    Kaspersky Reports collected in the Reports tool, are not log files. 

    The Events customization feature has nothing to do with log files.

    but  what does contain  the folder C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\Report ?

    and could be customizable via → interface →notification settings → and disable save to local report enable /disable reports?

    i can see that even i disable everything in the notifcation settings (my screenshots) kaspersky keep wrining file like g_objdt.dat

    hi, kaspersky security cloud free 21.3.10.391 (d), windows 7 sp1 64bit pro. When i disable or enable kaspersky security cloud free 21.3.10.391 (d)  , the system try icon doesn’t work. The icon , disabled or enabled keeps green even when kaspersky security cloud free 21.3.10.391 (d)  is disabled. thanks

    Do the following please: 

    1. Close all apps.
    2. Create a System restore point.
    3. Export KSC Settings.
    4. Restore KSC Settings.
    5. Run a manual KSC Database update → allow it to complete.
    6. Shutdown the computer using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login to computer. 
    7. Recheck “After Pause protection is selected, KSC icon remains green”, fixed - “yes”, let us know? 
    8. Not fixed? Do the following steps:  
    9. Create a System restore point.
    10. Uninstall KSC →  do not check any checkboxes.
    11. Shutdown the computer using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login.
    12. Check whether any applications installed on the computer are incompatible with KSC ?
    13. Download new KSCF installer.
    14. Install KSCF. 
    15. Configure KSCF.
    16. Run a manual Database update →  allow it to complete. 
    17. Shutdown the computer using Shutdown, not Restart, power on, login to computer.
    18. Recheck “After Pause protection is selected, KSC icon remains green”, fixed/not fixed? Let us know please?

    to answer to your question , i did not that i could customize the reports in  → interface →notification settings

    now ,i know it , and i have enabled what i need for example for file anti-virus critacal events , it should save only malware detected

    but do you know that if i disabled everything in notification settings  like my screenshots above , kaspersky still does record reports :(

    i have found → interface →notification settings  , and i have disabled everything to make a test

    but with everthing disabled , kaspersky does write reports like

    C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\Report\g_objid.dat and others reports

     

    I would like only to save threat found  by file anti-virus ,  web  anti-virus , system watcher and scanners

    Welcome again!

    ☢ Hacking the registry is never recommended. 

    1. Have you checked Notifications, Save in local report, to see if (your) requirement can be managed there? 
    2. Note, the Save in local report feature, may allow you to filter events, rather than turn OFF specific reports.

    if i want to turn off reports or some of them , should I do via registry (regedit ) ?

     

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\KasperskyLab\AVP21.3\Reports\Filter

    for example WebMonitoringDirection is set to 1

    if i change to 0 , is WebMonitoringDirection report  disabled ?

    I have notice really a strange behavior , not normal at all

    I have downloaded with qbittorrent 4.3.5 64bit a linux image , and with process hacker and process explorer I have noticed a eccessive writining of files inside c:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\SysWHist\

    like c:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\SysWHist\main.sdb

    kaspersky kept to write to these folder and this files main.sdb really a lot , so i stopped qbittorrent

    I thought to make a test and pause the protection (kaspersky ) from the system tray icon

     

    but the really strange thing , is that this happened even after I paused the protection 

    with kaspersky security cloud free 21.3.10.391 (d) paused and qbittorrent  , with process hacker disk tab , i could see  continuous writinig to this file

    but kaspersky write really a lot , for example i was downloading a linux distro , and kaspersky wrote the same ammount of GB

    so i wanted to do another test , download via  qbittorrent a video file ,mp4 and the same behavior , kaspersky on or paused wrote on c:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP21.3\SysWHist\main.sdb the same ammount of the file

    450mb is the file , 450mb of writning

    is it normal ?

    even with the antivirus paused??

    is there a way to stop or avoid this eccesive ammount of writning ?

    add qbittorrent  in the exclusions or trusted  appliaction did not work

    is the only way uninstall kaspersky ?

    Thank you for posting back!

    • Re Eicar, our results are different to yours. 
    • We ran the test twice, for both Firefox & Chrome. 
    • After the 1st test, we reset Kaspersky app to Default. 
    • The 2nd test results were identical to the first. 
    • We notice Kaspersky app Reports is not trapping any Eicar/Chrome events.

    Please reset Chrome to Default, Reset KSC to Default → rerun the Eicar tests, please video the outcome & post back?

    Additional, if  v21.3 is installed:

    How to configure application notifications

    • UNCHECK, Notify on screen. When the event occurs, a pop-up notification is shown above the application icon in the taskbar notification area.
