  1. Thank you for the kind words, I have contacted support but they just want to fob it off on the reseller or accuse me of "sourcing" my version . I had to prove to them i had bought it twice and then just got endless copy pasta emails from them providing as expected no solution. Nice of you to read it all through. Going above and beyond with that and i really do appreciate it. so thank you again and ill just chalk it all up to experience who would of thought using the free version was the fix for this simple issue. I wont risk it though. system is just working great again and I am in charge for better or worse 😉 (attached pic showing the two purchases one is 1 dev/1year and then because it wouldn't work right I bought it again a 3 dev/1 year one. yes i do daft stuff like that as well , though Kaspersky support advice was to buy it from there site, at 5 times the price of both versions on kinguin and they even wanted me to approach kinguin to sort out my issue, strange as they didnt make it.) Kinguin was a disaster from the start and i have just finished a huge problem with them, notice a pattern it happens a lot since my health problems and is why i come on a bit strong for some people and rub them the wrong way. usually it is easier to just move on and take the hit rather than complain but sometimes i reach out for info just because im curious about something. Rarely do i get anywhere though. sorry for rambling and for those that do xmas hope you had a good one. regards Dave
  2. ty @Flood and Flood's wife maybe my view of the forum is diff to yours but i dont see IF (you're) so keen to use defender, it may have been better to use Kaspersky Free, get the AV & no Kaspersky Firewall. anywhere else best answer right there but i understand why noone wants to mention that I tend to speak before thinking so i apologise if i got shirty but kaspersky are not helping . this is just one issue . i also managed to pay twice for it unnescessarily probly my fault that one i really should make a sig with the following as a way to explain why i ask dumb questions or get confused, I am not being argumentative, I suffered two strokes a few years back which left me with some difficulties. one of them is when i explain anything i go on and on and crap Im even doin it now... Ill mark yours as a solution if only to end it.
  3. Ty for the help. I understand what you are saying but my situation with K is weird to say the least. But I did, I admit, not make the title of the op clear enough. a better title, now i have thought about it, would be: why Kaspersky not follow MY defender rules ? Can it not tell which rules are which ? ie which are set by me ,the administrator , and other things w/e they may be. I am not really interested in anyone telling me what is best for me. I know what that is. It was just a simple question I thought. Apparently not . I have uninstalled K, and all is working again as I like it too, so np now this thread serves no purpose and can be closed or w/e. It is not solved as the answers are all of the, "Trust me Bro" - I am a piece of software and I do what I want not what you want ok, Variety. and, its for your own good, type stuff. I am not senile, yet at least, and am capable of working out what is for my own good or not and unfortunately it has never stopped me from doing anything 😉
  4. Fixed one of the annoyances other still stands, managed to make defender stop moaning finally and disabled kasper firewall, all is ok except the question that still stands as in title of post i really cant be arsed to type it all out anymore so consider this kinda solved i guess.
  5. @harlan4096 I appreciate any and all help received that may clarify this issue. maybe i need to explain my frustration with this. i buy kaspersky as an anti-virus and get a "bonus feature" of a firewall that is an annoyance and upsets my way of doin my thang etc. it is simple in my view ofc but explaining it is hard. i have my windows set up so i can right click an exe and block it in firewall. works 100% and have used it for years. install kaspersky and disable unwanted firewall. defender has constant yellow flag warning about it but my stuff still works fine. enable kaspersky firewall and blocked programs pass straight through and defender goes green cos it is all ok apparently. BUT i want the program blocked. either by defender which i asked it to, or by kaspersky because it is integrated with defender and should know what to block. i will stop now before i write a novel.
  6. my original question stands i clearly said i see no reason why i have to introduce this pointless extra step of manually doin it in kaspersky. why does kaspersky ignore defender settings ? why am i having to ask this about a firewall i never wanted anyway why cant i turn it off in kaspersky and not have defender moaning. maybe i am explaining badly, i am easily confused
  7. when i set a block in windows firewall which is supposed to be fully integrated with windows defender you claim, kaspersky ignores it completely. why ? am i doing something wrong ? i usually am wrong 😉 scenario : I add a rule to defender block (no internet access) works fine program gets blocked i turn on kaspersky firewall and it lets the program through like i didnt exist i am not uninstalling and reinstalling haspersky everytime i add a rule or manually doing it in both defender and kaspersky . at this moment it is kaspersky that will be removed seems the only fix.
