Honestly, it never even occurred to me that this was a Kapersky issue. I just happened on the right terminology when doing a search, which pulled up Kapersky in the results...and then the light bulb went off. Up until that point, I was convinced it was a Chrome issue, i had disabled all extensions, reset the browser, uninstalled...reinstalled, so frustrating!

I’d be curious what your setting looks like right now, if the “inject scripts” option is disabled and if so, if that’s why the issue improved for you

I had the same issue and this seemed to fix the issue for me right away. You’re lucky, the search bar problem would sometimes stall for minutes for me...infuriating… https://support.google.com/chrome/thread/40904009?hl=en This might help some people as it worked for me: Make sure you check your task manager's cpu usage during one of these hangs, you will see chrome/firefox & kasperky's usage spike. If this is the case you need to disable 'traffic processing' in kasperky. Settings → Additional → Network Settings → Uncheck “Inject scripts into web traffic to interact with web pages”.
