  1. Also, Settings → Additional → Network Settings → Uncheck “Inject scripts into web traffic to interact with web pages” try to disable this option + disable Anti-banner (if you have it) and see what happens next if it doesn’t work: Settings → Additional → Network Settings → check “Do not scan encrypted connections” if it doesn’t help, try to turn off application control temporarily and compare the result
  2. yes, Kaspersky you can still protect you if you continue using Office 2010 but to a certain level there might be some sophisticated threats that may bypass Kaspersky’s protection therefore, to prevent that from happen and to help Kaspersky a hand, you can do the following steps to limit Office 2010 infections 1/ download syshardener and extract https://downloads.novirusthanks.org/files/portables/syshardener_portable.zip 2/ open x86 or x64 folder, depend on your Windows version (32bit=x86; 64bit=x64) open Syshardener.exe 3/ scroll down to File Type Associations → tick “Unassociate .JAR” and “.PS1” you can customize your settings if you have some knowledge about this field 4/ Only if you are using Windows 8 or 8.1 → scroll down to “Windows Firewall (Outbound) → UNCHECK “Block outbound connections for Explorer.exe” 5/ Leave the rest at default and click “Apply Selected” Done These settings will block Office 2010 (and all office versions in general) from connecting to the internet, block scripts and macros (which are very common vectors for infections via MS Office if you extremely need some features that Syshardener disabled above, you can revert the tweaks only when you know that what you are doing is safe and trustful

  4. in my experience with this component a few years ago, I don’t find it any better than regular ablockers, even worse and buggier (I had trouble accessing some websites with anti-banner) IMHO, use a good adblocker (ublock origin, adguard) and fortify it with third-party rules found on filterlists.com. It will perform better than anti-banner without decreasing browsing performance
  5. Does activating it slow down web browsing or opening websites a bit? I don’t really see much difference after enabling the option The one which slows down web browsing significantly is “Script injection”. You will see a day-and-night improvement in terms of CPU usage and browser loading speed after unchecking it. Because you’re using KSC free, script injection almost has no use. It might be useful if you have the paid versions (anti-banner, safe money,...) Settings -> Additional -> Network → Uncheck “Inject scripts into web traffic to interact with web pages” I am not finding a big difference, yet my PC is a PC dated about 15 years (I only increased the RAM to 4GB, it is a doily core duo). Could it be that the G patch also improved this aspect? I don’t know. I always disable that option since a few versions back for better performance. In the past, v2018, it slowed me down a lot Kaspersky 2020 has improved a lot in performance compared to v2019. I still believe disabling that option still has a positive effect on resource usage. It’s very noticeable on my computer at least especially when you like monitoring resource usage of each app like me

  7. cách dễ nhất là lên trang web của kaspersky.com (chọn 1 nước ở châu âu) tải file cài đặt mới nhất. Nên tải bản European version (nếu bạn dùng được tiếng anh vì nó cho thêm tùy chọn không gửi thông tin cá nhân về cho kaspersky) Translation: the easiest way is to download the new installer from Kaspersky (select a European website where people speak English). Preferably the European version if you can use English because it gives you an option to opt-out data collection = better privacy
  8. Yes, I provided all logs, GSI, and traces to my regional Kaspersky supporter. They said they submitted them to Kaspersky
  9. Hello everyone, I have been a long-term user of Kaspersky. I have noticed a few unpleasant issues with Kaspersky since older versions and they have persisted in the latest versions The issue is about caching mechanism of Kaspersky: As soon as I open a folder, full of exe files, Kaspersky scans all files and caches them This process takes a bit of time and consumes a considerable amount of computer resources (CPU & disk IO) The second time I open the folder, files are not scanned again However, after I reboot the computer, the caches seem to be wiped and the files are scanned again after I open my folder This issue doesn’t happen if I do a Hybrid shutdown/fast startup (only in Windows 8-10) or Hibernation A full shutdown (disabled fast startup) or reboot will definitely cause the issue It seems to me that Kaspersky doesn’t have any persistent caching but it only has temporary caching. I’m not sure if it’s a bug or a decision from the developers to improve the security of the product (caching of safe files can reduce protection) If there is an option to keep all caches on reboot so Kaspersky will even consume fewer resources Thank you
  10. Hello, Try to reload or restart KIS if this behavior still exist. And then, Please tell me this issue has gone or not. Regards the problem is still exist. forget it . I have disabled File Antivirus. Actually, I dont like static scan at all. Fileless attack is more and more popular, right? I think the behaviour based detection is more important. it’s not true. Signature-based and cloud-assisted protections are still ones of the most important components of kaspersky behavioral blocker alone is insufficient. I have seen many malwares which are able to bypass Kaspersky's behavioral blocker but they are stopped by signatures although Kaspersky has one of the best BBs by the way, physical malwares are still very popular Kaspersky is also susceptible to adwares and PUPs so users should be aware of this kind of threat even though PUP protection is enabled in “Threads and exclusions”. ESET seems to be the most aggressive against PUPs and adwares fileless malwares can somehow be stopped by blocking of Windows Script host, Powershell, java and some common script-delivering vectors => try to use Novirusthank Syshardener
  11. exactly, I have the same issue with Kaspersky (all versions, all patches) while File Anti-Virus scan mode is set to “On execution” as soon as I open any folder with many .exe files, Kaspersky always scans the folder and consumes up to 50% of CPU and puts some loads on disk in fact, Kaspersky should never scan my files when I just open my folder because I set the scan mode to “On execution” → it doesn’t respect my change Moreover, Kaspersky seems to intentionally wipes out it’s caches on reboot. Within the same boot session, when I open a previously scanned folder, files are not scanned again thanks to caches but after I reboot my PC, Kaspersky performs an automatic scan and re-collects caches => consumes CPU and disk IO I have submitted a feedback via email. It was passed to my regional supporter and I provided enough information for them (trace logs and GSI logs + videos to demonstrate clearly how to reproduce the issue)
  12. this issue was fixed for me since patch D make sure your installer is at least patch D, then it can be updated to patch E after a reboot
  13. Hello everyone, I have a question regarding Scan mode in File Anti-Virus I read this descriptions about different scan modes but they are not clear enough for me https://help.kaspersky.com/KSCloud/Win3.0/en-us/84844.htm Therefore, I would like to ask for a more detail, in-depth descriptions about these scan modes and what the performance and security impacts after changing from 1 mode to another For example, the default scan mode is "Smart Mode". However, I don't find it is light-weight enough I decided to switch to "On execution" which is supposed to be faster than Smart Mode, according to my knowledge of products in various AVs from other vendors If I'm not mistaken: Performance (light -> heavy): On execution < On access < Smart mode < On access and modification Security (worst to best): same as above I would like to ask if anyone has tried to play around with these settings and does "On execution" reduce security noticeably? Thank you Regards,
  14. here is the quote of the support kaspersky sent me via email: The support is in Vietnamese Usually, Kaspersky in Vietnam sells 1 version older than the rest of the world so I'm not surprised + the message looks exactly like a template they send to everyone when they have problems I submitted a support ticket totally in English via : support.kaspersky.com They sent me an automatic confirmation email by the email of customerservicesolution@kaspersky.com for unknown reasons, Kaspersky passed my support ticket to my regional supporter in Vietnam (kaspersky.vn or kaspersky NTS) who I didn't try to reach in the first place Actually, I followed their instruction and used kaspersky removal tool to wipe out kaspersky's traces. Then, I reinstalled Kaspersky antivirus 2020 trial version => zero difference. The error still persisted Furthermore, as I expected, the removal tool broke a few components of my Windows logged in Event Viewer => I was forced to restore from an image backup (macrium reflect) After that, I downloaded and installed Kaspersky security cloud free 2019 and everything went smoothly. No installation problem what so ever. The 2019 version is perfect this means the 2020 is problematic for some people There are only 2 options left: 1/ Kaspersky acknowledges this issue and fixes it 2/ I re-install my Windows => which is the worst option. If it ain't break, don't fix it. Why do I have to reinstall Windows to repair something not caused by Windows. I can instead use v2019 or use another AV
  15. I noticed this too with Kaspersky security cloud free 2019 patch F More precisely, when I opened a new page on new tab, chrome or other chromium-based browser froze for several seconds + the browser became unresponsive and sluggish. I used task manager and chrome's built-in task manager to identify the problem => GPU process (of chrome) consumed a crazy amount of CPU I tried to modify a lot of GPU-related flags and under-the-hood settings but there was no improvement rebooting and updating didn't help When I disabled Kaspersky, there was a day and night improvement. No more freezing I tried to switch to another AV with web filter => instant loading, no freezing In conclusion: kaspersky is the culprit
  16. I wrote on the previous post the support was not good enough (official re-seller in my country). It was like a generic reply from a template they send to everyone They tell me to install version 2018 while 2019 is already out for a long period of time
  17. I submitted a technical support to Kaspersky in English. I chose version 2019 because 2020 was not available on the support website They replied me today in my language Summary: 1/ use Kaspersky Removal tool to uninstall everything 2/ Download and install Kaspersky 2018 !!!!! It's not technical enough
  18. Hello, 1/ I don't have any licensed Kaspersky software before installation. Actually before this installation I tried to install the version from this link and got the exact same problem so I was forced to uninstall it http://dm.kaspersky-labs.com/en-GB/SAAS/20.0.14.1085/startup.exe 2/ I downloaded from this link. Kaspersky has been updated since the GUI was unable to start. The problem appeared as soon as I finished installing http://dm.kaspersky-labs.com/en-GB/KAV/20.0.14.1085/startup.exe 3/ I choose 2020 because it's the latest and fastest version according to several users I never had any problem with Kaspersky security cloud free 2019 Additional information: I used NET framework repair tool from microsoft but it didn't solve the issue I upgraded and downgraded NET framework between 4.7 and 4.8 => still occured I ran "ngen update" and sfc/scannow => nothing changed I refuse to use Kaspersky removal tool because I will 100% break system restore/system protection. It will take several steps to repair system restore (I know how to fix it) so if you ask me to use it, I can't I found out some people also have this problem in a Chinese forum https://bbs.kafan.cn/thread-2151529-1-1.html Thank you
  19. Hello Kaspersky experts, I was trying to install Kaspersky 2020: Anti-virus or security cloud.
