While the KSC does include a built-in Network Agent, it is only a management platform and does not include any built-in Endpoint protection.

Therefore, you are correct, KES should be installed on the server in addition to the Kaspersky Security Center.

I’ve this doubt about KES. So, the thing is I have my KSC server already installed but I’m not sure if that KSC server should also have the KES installed like other servers do. 

 

I would say it should since it helps the server to be more secure but I’m not a hundred percent sure about it.

Hope you are well. You can deploy KES for Mac remotely via installation task or locally from the dmg file. The network agent for Mac must be installed locally first however before you are able to remotely deploy the KES for Mac. 

This is because there are only two methods of remote installation from the Security Center console. “using network agent” or “using windows resources”. Since it’s a Mac OSX, that rules the second option out and you must install the agent locally to use the network agent.

The KES for Mac would use the same license as your windows devices, so no additional cost there.

Hello everyone. 

I’ve been deploying KES 11 in my company, but there’s something I got to ask: Does KES applies for MacOS computers? Is there a way to install KES on Macs like we do for Windows clients? 

So far I’ve just installed the agent on those and I can’t find a way for KES. Maybe there is not a way but I’d love some experience over here.

Hi everyone, 

 

I’m new on this, and i’ve been studying for the Kaspersky Endpoint Security and Management certification. There’s this topic about licesing that I’m kind of shocked, and it says: 

“You do not need to activate Kaspersky Security Center to use it. Everything which is necessary for managing workstation protection is available without a license” 

“In Kaspersky Security Center, KESB Select license activates the mobile device management functionality. You do not need to activate Kaspersky Security Center to be able to manage only the protection and control on workstations and servers”. 

 

Like… what?? That’s what I’m understanding. Some “advanced characteristics of encryption” is available with licensing but then some encryption is also available without it. 

 

If someone can help to understand better... please and thank you.
