As of this posting, the Kaspersky's "KLAPR" password removal tool only supports up to version 21.14. To get it to run properly, do the following:
1) Unzip the KLAPR.zip archive downloaded from the Kaspersky website
2) Using Notepad, open KLAPR.bat
3) Scroll down to the line "REM FIND THE PRODUCT:"
4) If you are running on a 64-bit system (the majority of folks these days), you will want to edit the 1st and 2nd lines right below "REM AVP21MR14_x64". For 32-bit edit the 1st and 2nd lines below "REM AVP21MR14_x86" instead.
5) Change the version number in the first line (the "set PRODUCT" line) to 21.15
6) Change the version number in the second line (the "set KEY_NAME" line) to 21.15
7) Reboot into Windows Safe Mode and run the batch file
I've reported this issue, but in case someone is struggling to remove a forgotten configuration / uninstall password, hopefully this post will be of help.
