Please try Cloudflare DNS 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1 as secondary ?
Not sure what you mean by that. Do you mean pinging those servers? If so, here is the result.
C:\Users\rgrun>ping 1.1.1.1
Pinging 1.1.1.1 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 1.1.1.1: bytes=32 time=32ms TTL=58
Reply from 1.1.1.1: bytes=32 time=32ms TTL=58
Reply from 1.1.1.1: bytes=32 time=33ms TTL=58
Reply from 1.1.1.1: bytes=32 time=31ms TTL=58Ping statistics for 1.1.1.1:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 31ms, Maximum = 33ms, Average = 32msC:\Users\rgrun>ping 1.0.0.1
Pinging 1.0.0.1 with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 1.0.0.1: bytes=32 time=33ms TTL=58
Reply from 1.0.0.1: bytes=32 time=40ms TTL=58

I'm frequently getting the following error when my VPN is turned on.
This happens for all websites and happens even when I'm using an Ethernet cable instead of Wifi.
Turning off the VPN seems to get around this, but the VPN should not be causing this in the first place. This started up ever since I renewed my subscription a few weeks ago.

I live in Canada.
I do wonder if this has to do with me having an old Kaspersky Total Security subscription rather than a straight Kaspersky Plus one. It may have to do with the following topic:

Application name: Kaspersky VPN
Version: 21.15.8.493
Scrolling past Protocol gives the options "Kill Switch", "Smart Protection", "Split Tunneling", "Notifications", and "Additional".
Clicking "Learn More" sends me to https://www.kaspersky.ca/
I just reinstalled it via Kaspersky Plus.

I have a subscription to Kaspersky Total Security that will last another 847 days, but Total Security is obsolete. I was looking for a way to convert the subscription to one for Kaspersky Plus, but after following the "Check Eligibility" link, it showed this conundrum.
First, it said the following:
QuoteWe’re improving things at Kaspersky. This means your previous plan is no longer available. It also means you have access to an upgraded plan offering better security at no extra cost.
However, just below that, it shows this.
So, would I be forced to pay to get Kaspersky Plus and just have to dump my previous subscription? Because that would be a ridiculous waste of what I paid for earlier, which I wouldn't have done if I'd known Total Security was being rendered obsolete (by the time I realized it, it was too late).
I'd rather not have to wait over two years to avoid wasting what I paid for earlier. Is there any way to convert part of what I paid for into something for Kaspersky Plus, or is that not allowed?

Just to note, this is for Kaspersky VPN Secure Connection, not Kaspersky Plus.

I've been having a problem lately with an image sharing website, Danbooru, where the images break while trying to load. I discovered that the site does not work well with VPN's, so I was hoping to do an IP range exclusion on it, but I cannot find any way to do that in Kaspersky VPN's settings. I also found this support page, but it appears to be out of date as there is no "websites" option in Kaspersky VPN's settings.
https://support.kaspersky.com/us/kaspersky-for-windows/21.14/128180
Is the functionality simply not available? Or is it under an option that I'm not seeing?

None of the above worked for long. Still getting the issue.
I'm guessing at this point the answer is "Don't try any DIY fix; all you can do is wait for the devs to fix it".
