  1. I’m confused on what these files are. They were created in 2019, but I only bought my PC in 2020, so I’m confused on how these files could’ve even been created back then.

I tried scanning them with Kaspersky but Kaspersky just says “Object not processed” and nothing else. I think this might be because the files are around 13GB in size.

So, are these regular windows files or malware that Kaspersky can’t process for some reason? I mean, if they malware, then the real-time protection would get them, right?

  2. @BigHotStud

    Thanks for posting back!

    1. On the Windows Taskbar or hidden icons, rightclick the Kaspersky icon, select About → take a screenprint & attach to your reply please?
    2. Is the certificate screen where you see the certificate is not OK, the same as our 2nd image set → post a full screen screenprint please?

    Thank you🙏

Yes, the 2nd certificate is exactly what I see. Thanks for figuring out the issue for us.

  3. I recently received an email, see bellow, which I wrote off as spam, since it most likely is. However, I’ve recently noticed weird mouse activity from my PC (it could be just that my mouse is broken), with the main issues being it randomly double clicking or not clicking at all. Do I have some sort of high-tech malware or is this just a series of coincidences?

I’ve already done scans with Kaspersky SCF and two other second opinion scanners, they’ve found nothing.

  4. I noticed something strange after running a defender scan. When it sent me a notification after a scan, I clicked on it. After clicking on it, I was met with a “Page not available” screen, with the text “Your IT administrator has limited some areas..”, you get the gist.

Everything other than that works fine on MD- I can scan normally, I can configure scans and security, and so on. Kaspersky also says that “Your protection is live now”, so I think Kaspersky itself is doing fine.

So, is it normal or is something up?

  5. Hello @BigHotStud

    Welcome again!

Read before you create a new topic!

    1. For Android, in Google Play store, the KIS software name is Kaspersky Mobile Anti-virus   image 1.
    2. In Kaspersky’s home AV software range, there’s only Kaspersky Internet Security or Kaspersky Security Cloud → images  2. & 3.
    3. For Android, in Google Play store, the KIS software named Kaspersky Mobile Anti-virus, installs as Kaspersky internet Security - that’s normal & as per design →  images 4. 5. & 6.
    4. Uninstalling KIS is only done properly, via the KIS application,
    5. Re “share pop-up”, (for us), the share pop-up displays after selecting a file we wish to share, it has no relationship to installed KIS software, KIS does not react unless the file is infected… When we select the share link, we’re presented with all available apps that can be used as the share host → image 7.
    6. Please post an image of the “share pop-up” issue, as you see it, we need to see what you see please?
    7. (ioo), none of what you’ve described indicates any type of infection.

    • Why Kaspersky have decided to publish KIS as Kaspersky Mobile Anti-virus  (in Google Play Store), and in the process, confuse folks, is known only to them, (ioo), it’s a poor decision that could easily be rectified.

    Thank you🙏

I found out what the whole “App is part of app” thing is:
java - Uninstalling app: "App is part of the following app: ..." Why is that? - Stack Overflow

    It’s normal, I think.

Regarding the ‘share’ pop up, I can’t really recreate it since, again, it only happened around once a week or once a month, but it looked almost exactly like the screenshot you provided. It might’ve just been me accidentally pressing a wrong button or something, as the app never reported any infections. I’ve also, as I mentioned, done scans with a numerous amount (around 3-7 different apps) of other antivirus software and it never found any malware. The share randomly only pops up in the Kaspersky app. I think I should also mention that I use the free version.

  6. First thing, when I installed what was said to be “Kaspersky Antivirus” in the playstore it instead got renamed to “Internet Security” in the apps list.

What’s even more strange is that when I try to uninstall it through the app drawer, or whatever it’s called, it says that “Internet Security is part of the following app: Kaspersky Internet Security”. Though, when I look it up in the “Apps” section of the settings, even with the “Show System Apps” thing checked, it only has one “Kaspersky internet Security” there.

I’ve done scans with other mobile anti-viruses, like [removed] but they’ve found no malware.

Another issue I’ve been having is the ‘share’ screen randomly popping up after a scan. You can recreate the screen by going to a photo in “Gallery” or post on Reddit and clicking the share button.

Do I have some sort of hi-tech doppelganger malware or is this normal?

P.S- I have an Samsung android phone.

  7. Sometimes, I see messages like “Task Started” as info messages or warnings as “Task Stopped”. They don’t show up daily, rather, only once a week or so for different modules- sometimes System Watcher, sometimes File Antivirus, you get the gist. Is this normal?

P.S- It always says “Your protection is live now” no matter what.

P.P.S- I use Security Cloud Free.

  8. I have a problem with Kaspersky Security Cloud Free. When looking over any of the .exe files, it says there are 3 digital signatures. Two are from “Kaspersky Lab JSC” and are marked ‘ok’, one other is from Kaspersky Lab, which is bad. To quote windows, it’s bad because “A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate, which is not trusted by the trust provider”.

My Kaspersky SC version is 21.3.10.391 (e).

P.S- For some reason Kaspersky SC doesn’t update to the newest patch. It only updates to the second newest one.

  9. HI @BigHotStud,

I am checking avp.exe for Kaspersky Security Cloud Free, avp.exe has 3 digital signatures, all three are okay. It might be you are using an older version, where the third certificate has some discrepancy. But it is normal, nothing to worry about.

This is my second install of KSC Free though. The first install also had the “Kaspersky Lab” signature as something wrong.

According to windows, the signature is bad because “A certificate chain processed, but terminated in a root certificate, which is not trusted by the trust provider.”

My KSC version is 21.3.10.391 (e), by the way.

P.S- For some reason Kaspersky SC doesn’t update to the newest patch. It only updates to the second newest one. Is this normal?
