Long story, in short.
I live in Vietnam and return to Melbourne Australia, every 3-4 months to visit family/shopping etc. In Australia they stopped the 2g network on Jan 1st this year so I upgraded from a $20 nokia to a Blackview BV6000 tough smart phone.
Being a newbie, to the smartphone world. I downloaded a dozen apps, and it got riddled with viruses and shit, and was unusable in a day(I was in Vietnam at the time).
I formatted the phone back to factory and installed Kaspersky anti virus (paid one, not the free one).... It stalls/freezes at 92% when it finds a threat. I have rebooted and re scanned several times, but the same is happening.

The frozen screens says:
Scanning is in progress.... 92%
Scan time: 1:27:26
Objects scanned: 2532
Threats detected: 1
Now scanning:/system/priv-app/HTMLVeiwer-apk//system/pri-app/HTMLVeiwer.apk/assets/f6.jar

The rest of the phone is working well, so it may be basic... But I have no idea!!

Keep in mind I am really new to the smart phone world(and I'm 55yo). Any help would be appreciated
Many thanks
Greg

Hi welcome to the forum
Did you install Kaspersky from Google Play Store?
Uninstall reboot then reinstall Kaspersky security again.
Any better?
If no,please contact Kaspersky support. https://my.kaspersky.com/
Kaspersky might not be compatible with that Blackview BV6000 phone?

Yep, I did download from Google play store. Is that a dumb thing to do? Should I download all apps from original websites?

I'll reformat/factory reset, then re-install, thanks.
This may take some time

I just uninstalled xender, then the scan picked up the threat at 92% again, and was able to block it (a HTMLV thingo) I disabled it and quarantined it and killed the little bastard...
A reboot, and scan, and it's gone.
I think I'll download apps from original websites.

Thanks for your help guys

Okay thanks for the update that kaspersky is working again.
Apps from google Play Store are normally safe to install.
But if you have no security working and you are unlucky to be infected.
Its best to do a device reset then reinstall Kaspersky for Premium protection.
Then everything should be all good.
Just a tip makes sure you have "anti_theft" setup correctly.
And you can connect to https://my.kaspersky.com/
From your mobile phone.
