I can’t send any e-mails when Kaspersky is active. (It does work when I turn on "Pause Protection".) My guess is that this depends on my SMTP port which is kind of odd. The ISP that I use (Swedish Tele2) requires me to use port 587 for outgoing mail.

How can I configure Kaspersky to let me access the SMTP server???

I’ve tried to set the appropriate port in the "Kaspersky/Settings/Service/Network Settings/Port Settings" dialog, but it doesn’t seem to solve the problem (and it actually makes sense that it doesn't help to "monitor" the port, but I can't find any other kinds of port settings).

I’m using Kaspersky Internet Security Version 6.0 (trial version). My e-mail client is Outlook.

Regards,

/Karl

No, I don't think that Outlook is in my Trusted Zone (i.e. it's not in the list of "Trusted Applications".)

Should it be there? I mean, I really don't like the idea of excluding Outlook from protection, which is what the Kaspersky Help System tells me is what would happen if I included it in the Trusted Zone.

Ok

Please try this

* right click K icon

* Settings

* trusted Zone

* Trusted Programs

* ad Outlook

This will probably do the job

Otherwise you could go to Anti Hacker in the main program.--> setting--> ad Outlook in the rules for apllications part

Good luck

Hey, Great news.

I didn't disable antihacker, but your suggestion made me look at the antihacker settings and I found out that the solution was to configure the firewall.

In the firewall settings I found the tab with "Rules for Applications", and in this list I found Outlook.exe. In the "Edit rules" for Outlook, I edited the rule "Send Mail By Microsoft Outlook" and added the "Remote port" 587. It works!

I really appreciate the hint. Thanks,

/Kadi

Hi, all

I’m happy to hear solving the problem.

In rare cases, some ISP requests users to open Remote Port 587 or specific number to send e-mails. (In general 25 for SMTP)

According to the preset of Anti-Hacker Rule for Outlook , AH doesn’t open Port 587 (in High Security Mode in Anti-Hacker).

In order to solve this problem, Add the firewall rule manually as kadi said in post #5

or

1.Select “Training Mode” in Anti-Hacker.

2.When you send an e-mail, the Anti-Hacker dialog pops up.

3.Just choose “This Address” and check “Create a rule” and Click “Allow.”

For your information.

Best Regards :)
