eScan uses KAV database?

Recommended Posts

What is eScan? I never heard of it.

Have you already asked your question in the eScan forum? They should know better than we do. ;)

eScan too...  :P

It uses the KAV 4.x engine, I think.

Does eScan use KAV´s database? Don Pelotas, where are you?

You should ask KAV developers like DVi.

I thought Fsecure uses KAV's engine.
Yes, it does, along with two others.

GDATA also uses the KAV engine, along with Bitdefender.

I think if they use the engine, they are using the database relevant to that engine. I know GDATA does as they have a page showing both sets of updated signatures.

Yes & no, yes it uses Kav engine (version 4) + signaturebase, but it doesn't update as fast as Kaspersky.

According to the blurb for their Internet Security Suite product, there is
Automatic Hourly Internet Updation
Whether this means AV updates are updated hourly, I dunno, but one would hope so.
