Malware popup from Kaspersky

Recommended Posts

I don't understand this. I just got a popup from Kas that I had malware and needed to remove it immediately. When I clicked the link it took me to a 404 page for Kas. I posted the image that's on my screen. When I ran a scan nothing showed up.

Kaspersky Total Security , full version 19.0.0.1088. I'm not sure what you mean by detailed detection information. I was taken to a Kaspersky page with a 404 error twice. I checked the address bar at the time to see if I was being redirected. Just finished a full scan and nothing came up.  I have this and that's it.

Also,

On top of everything else said above, that 'popup' is not from Kaspersky Total Security (KTS), its from Kaspersky Security Scan (KSS) which was just a free scanner

and did not remove anything, it just told you that you were infected, also it is no longer supported since the release of Kaspersky Free. You probably have 2 things installed.

Though Kaspersky's US website makes it look like it is still available, all the links for it take you to Kaspersky Free.
