Disinfection failed. eicar.com archive on desktop.

Recommended Posts

When Kaspersky detects a threat, the only notification I get is "disinfection failed .." when in Kaspersky
I have the disinfection options disabled, I have configured it to remove or block the threats directly. I
have even disabled the advanced disinfection technology but nothing, I only get that message without meaning
and eliminates the threat. Someone help me?

Welcome. Please click Details. What does it say?

Please delete eicr.com  from your desktop. Any better?

If I click on details, it takes me to the Kaspersky registry where it says that the threat has been removed. Eicar. com is just a file to test the antivirus, it is not malicious, I was testing kaspersky with that file. The problem is the notification that it gives me when detecting a threat, it does not make sense since I have deactivated any type of disinfection that kaspersky can do. Instead of notifying me with a "disinfection failed", you should tell me something like "eliminated threat" for example

Also, If you have deactivated Kaspersky's ability to disinfect threats, maybe that's why you're getting getting the message.  It's telling you it failed because you've prevented the product from doing what it's supposed to.  In any event, this may be something you'd want to take up with the Support staff.  They may better understand the logic behind messages/notifications.

Just out of curiosity, why would you want to disable that feature?

I've disabled that option just to test if I did not get that message
