taskhostw.exe [ProcessId: 11444] excessive CPU use (98%), however no such task with that process id exists

Recommended Posts

I think that I have virus on my computer, just as the title says. After doing a perfmon report (cmd -> perfmon /report) everything was fine, except there was an error saying:

Process taskhostw.exe [ProcessId: 11444] has a high CPU consumption of 98.2%.

When I looked at the Task Manager, the CPU usage only hovers between 2% - 10%. I then downloaded the process monitor (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/procmon) and found out that the only taskhostw.exe that exists has a different process ID (not 11444). Also, I downloaded another sysinternals procmon and I couldn't find a process with a PID of 11444 on either of them. Even if taskhostw.exe is a hidden verified microsoft process, the high CPU usage which doesn't even show is very suspicious. I tried finding the file path of the process but couldn't find it anywhere. Need help on how  to deal with it.
