Renewed KAV (which was not yet expired); receipt said additional time would be added to license ...

Recommended Posts

Hi. I renewed my Kaspersky AV license, and received an email that said:

"Your license will be extended within the next 24 hours."

It's been a couple of days since the renewal purchase, and the original license is counting down (from 25 days to 23 now), but no additional time or extension has been added. I tried to switch within KAV to the new license number, but then it dropped my 23 days, so I re-entered the old license number.

Thoughts?

Thanks. Yes, I did log in to my My Kaspersky account, but didn't see anything apparently to do with the license. Thanks for the link; will try that!

Also, under normal conditions when adding your new license the switch should automatically take place when your current license expires,

Okay. In the past, if I purchased a yearly license when I still had, say, 20 days on the current license, the 365 days would be added to the 20 days (equaling 385 days). In fact, the Kaspersky receipt says "Your license will be extended within the next 24 hours." That did not happen, so I guess we'll have to wait until nearly the last day to manually delete the old license and add the new one.

If I recall correctly (??), there used to be a place within the KAV app to add a second license without deleting the current license.

It's not as convenient to do it manually on the last day; just wondering why the new yearly license was not added within the KAV app.

Thanks. But if activation doesn't succeed when my current license expires (and I don't see how it will succeed since I'm not able to input the new license), that means I'll have no KAV protection. So I'll just need to input the new license.

I can contact Technical support then.

Very curious.

KAV will still protect you but you will not obtain the latest Database updates. Please also feel free to contact K-Lab before your licence expires.

Ah, okay; did not know that it would still protect. I don't know where to contact K-Lab. though. Could you tell me?
