Kaspersky Lab Power Events Provider need to restart my computer?

Recommended Posts

I've been using windows 10 pro for 2/3 years and Kaspersky Internet Security for 6 years, tonight for the first time (that I can remember) I received a Win 10 Notification that " Kaspersky Lab Power Events Provider need to restart my computer".

Thanks a bunch Kaspersky, did I as you for this?

Upon restarting I noticed that lower case keys produced UPPER CASE  characters and required the Caps Lock key to be pressed (caps lock LED lit) before lower case char appeared on the Google Search Bar. Also The Mouse Scroll Wheel refused to function.

These two faults appear to have gone away by switching On and Off the Chrome Extension "Kaspersky Protection" (or maybe it was the several restarts of Chrome?).

After a while having this Extension on or off makes no difference and Keyboard and Mouse have returned to 'normal'.

What is "Kaspersky Lab Power Events Provider", what does it protect, do I need it, if not required how to remove?

@richbuff I'll read that page and keep an eye on the win10 system and see if this notification keeps reappearing.

BTW my KIS19 had upgraded from patch c to d a few hours before notification appeared.
