KSC MDM : manage devices outside local network

Recommended Posts

Hi ,

For testing purpose I'm using my pc as the administration server to manage my android device but I can only manage my device if it is connected to the same network as my  pc

My question is how should I configure the administration server so it can manage my  mobile device even if my mobile is connected using 3G/4G or connected to a different network than the administration server

Thanks

I installed the full package kaspersky security center 10.5.1781 with mobile device management support then i created an apk for endpoint security 10 and sent the apk link via email to my android phone but when I try to install it while my phone is connected to 3g/4g it doesnt work

Hi, okay the mobile phone needs internet connection when you are using 3G+4G, so you need data pack in your phone plan.

Hi, also maybe your Administrator server and Mobile server are not "synced" correctly, maybe certificates are not correct, recheck etc.

Also did you create a "external address for the web server"  to connect to the Administrator server?

You might have to go to "control panel<> programs<>programs and features" then here<>Kaspersky Security Center  Administrator Server.

Now go to top an left click "uninstall or change program"<> now this will open the "setup wizard" for you to "modify" and add "mobile support then you can add the "external web server ip address" also makes sure the "open port" is selected for mobile devices.

Also make sure the most important Kaspersky "plugins" are installed.

1.Kaspersky Mobile Device Management.

2. Kaspersky Endpoint Security for Mobile.

Those two "plugins should be added 'automatically when the Kaspersky standard configuration<>"kaspersky administrator server" is installed.

However the Endpoint Security for mobile "plugin" may need updating, as this plugin is updated "independently" for KSC versions, you can also download this plugin from the Kaspersky Lab site.

I am only guessing here maybe the Kaspersky Endpoint Security "plugin" has not been "updated" to the latest version, maybe that's why your not connecting to mobile on external link.
