Rescue USB crashes on boot

Recommended Posts

I used the Rescue creator utility and created a USB thumb drive to run Kaspersky Rescue after installing Kaspersky Free. I ran the creator while the first full scan was in progress but I don't see that as being a problem as long as the program was fully installed while I used the ISO to make the bootable USB.

The USB boot and asks a few questions like language, etc., and when I select Run Kaspersky scan or words to that effect, I get a black screen indicating it failed to load with numerous errors ending in a hung machine with a lot of bad status on the screen.

Any thoughts on what has happened? Is the created USB corrupted, and if so, how? Anyone else see this behavior?

I downloaded the KRD.ISO beta and it gets an error and halts the creation of the USB. See attached screenshot.

Here is a picture of the screen that occurred when I tried to boot the original rescue disk which is why I started this topic in the forum.

RE: harlan4096 - I will try the creation method you pointed to for the beta KRD after my next full backup. I will report back afterwards.

Thank you.

I may even also try creating a CD and see if that works.

I guess you already knew this but I burned a CD and it works with no problem.

Since I've already burned a CD, I will use that and save my USB for other tasks.

Thank you for your help. The CD boot takes a little longer but I hope I never have to use it anyway. :)
