I have the same problem as described in the first post and I have Kaspersky Internet Security 2017.  I would think they would have corrected the problem by now.

When starting my PC Kaspersky 2012 AV "K" icon does not load to the notification area in some instances. When I go to the START MENU to manually start the program, nothing happens. The Task Manager shows AVP.exe process and AVP Services running. What could be the problem?
