Tracking Question: Does KTS have any protection against "canvas fingerprinting"?

Recommended Posts

Hi all.

Seriously, quick technical questions on web tracking:

1. Does the current version of KTS (v18) provide any protection against "canvas fingerprinting"?

2. If so, does it have it for the current versions of each of Chrome, Firefox,  MSIE, and Edge?

I've searched Google with the terms canvas kaspersky.  No hits there.

And I've searched the English/Home Protection parts of this forum for canvas.  All I found was a user named Kanvas.  So nothing here either.

This is what got me interested:
https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/10/30/firefox_canvas_privacy_tor/
https://securityboulevard.com/2017/10/firefox-takes-a-bite-out-of-the-canvas-super-cookie/

I mostly use Chrome, and if KTS is not protecting me, this is available for canvas protection for Chrome:

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/canvas-defender/obdbgnebcljmgkoljcdddaopadkifnpm?hl=en
But no point in installing another Chrome plug-in (another thing to go wrong) if I'm already protected by KTS.

Much thanks in advance to anyone who can dig up the info for me.

Instead of use -Canvas Fingerprint- You can reduce websites Data collection in KTS - Private Browsing

if you select (•) Block data collection : But some websites won't work properly - Try it on

Link :  https://support.kaspersky.com/13660  : if unsatisfied rollback to default

Private Browsing setting,..(•) Allow data collection -- Stay Tuned!

Keith2468, hello,

1. Yes. Use Private browsing component + make sure that blocking option is enabled in its settings.
2. There is no dependencies from browser for Private browsing component. It works on traffic.
