Kaspersky Anti-Ransomware Tool for Business is a program designed to protect the users’ computers from known malware of ransomware type.



For the program to work properly, your computer should meet the following requirements:

1.     General requirements

* Processor: Intel® Pentium® III 1 GHz 32-bit (x86) / 64-bit (x64) or higher (or a compatible analog).

* Memory (RAM): 1 GB for 32-bit operating system; 2 GB for 64-bit operating system.

* 350 MB of free space on hard drive (depending on the size of antivirus databases).

* Internet connection (to update the databases and program modules).

2.     Operating systems

* Microsoft Windows 7 Starter (Service Pack 1 or higher)

* Microsoft Windows 7 Home Basic (Service Pack 1 or higher)

* Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium (Service Pack 1 or higher)

* Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (Service Pack 1 or higher)

To install the program, open the distribution package file and follow the instructions of the Installer.

The program can be incompatible with other programs of Kaspersky Lab.



Main features of of Kaspersky Anti-Ransomware Tool for Business:

* Detecting and blocking malware of ransomware type.

* Restoring the system after malware activity (this feature has a few limitations – see «MAIN KNOWN LIMITATIONS» part below).

* Viewing the detected threats report.

* Viewing report on actions peformed to restore the system.



Limitations in restoring files

* In some cases the program does not delete files created by malware.

* The program does not delete or restore files that are being used by another process.

* The program does not restore files located:

o On storage devices with file systems other than NTFS, including the rewritable optical discs (CR RW, DWD RW)

o On Windows network drives.

Limitations in restoring registry key values

* There are registry keys the program does not restore. As a result, after each operating system restart the program will display a message that an application couldn’t be launched.

Limitations in restoring system activity

* Shutting down processes or process flows into which a malware had been intruding, may cause unstable performance of the operating system.

There will be no report entries if no threats are detected or the program fails to scan an object. There will only be report entries in case malware is detected.



When connected to the Internet via proxy server, a report will be sent to the administrator only if the SMTP server is within the local area network.

When application from the Blocked list is added to the Allowed list it has to be deleted manually from the Blocked list to allow its start.

In case there is any connectivity issue during report sending next attempt to send it will happened on the schedule specified in the application settings
