greyclear Posted April 24, 2017 If you have device control enabled to block USB and CD devices, you get a notification when you plug in a CD/DVD or USB that pops up saying this device is blocked. This is normal behavior. Since upgrading or installing fresh Kaspersky SP2 the notification for CD/DVD device keeps popping up every few seconds. Our previous kaspersky builds MR3 do not do this, only when a device is plugged in does it pop up with a notification. Has anyone else noticed this and been able to fix it? Turning off the notification is not what IT management wants so this option will not work. The behavior should perform the same way as previous builds. Unfortunately it is a constant nag for our users and distracting them. Kaspersky Endpoint 10 SP2 10.3.0.6294 PF3015 O/S Windows 7/8/10 64 bit Share this post Link to post

Did you create new policy or converted it from a previous version ? Please attach screenshots of "device control" settings. Thank you. Share this post Link to post
greyclear Posted April 24, 2017 (edited) Hello, did you disable "on screen" notifications ? Did you create new policy or converted it from a previous version ? Please attach screenshots of "device control" settings. Thank you. On screen notifications is disabled yes because it constantly nags every few seconds. IT management does not want this. They want end users to be notified that a device is blocked when they insert a CD/DVD like it does on Kaspersky MR3 version. I created a new policy. Ive also created a new and copied settings from previous policy doesn't seem to matter. Edited April 24, 2017 by greyclear Share this post Link to post

The new version of the policy has the settings for notifications in a different location. I was able to stop the notifications from popping up by going to the Policy -> Advanced settings -> Reports and Storages -> Notifications , Settings -> Device Control, Disable the Notify On Screen for the Critical events (Check boxes). This is only a temporary fix as the popup is disabled completely even when a device is attached, but at least my helpdesk tickets for the annoying popup has stopped coming in until I can get this working properly. Nikolay Arinchev Posted May 30, 2017 Hi, According to RnD team this behavior is "By design". Please create a request to KL Support with your suggestion and it will be implemented at future versions. Thank you for cooperation! Share this post Link to post
p.chi Posted May 31, 2017 Hi, According to RnD team this behavior is "By design". Please create a request to KL Support with your suggestion and it will be implemented at future versions. Thank you for cooperation! This cannot be 'by design', it is an issue and needs to be addressed and fixed. You're stating that having the Device popup notification disturb a user every few seconds and minutes, continually for hours, is done so on purpose ?! The only way I've been able to get around this annoyance is to disable the popup notification completely. Now users cannot request permission when plugging in a usb device because the notification popup is disabled. Share this post Link to post

p.chi Posted July 26, 2017 What's going on with this issue !?! A wipe and restore of KSC and the same problem re: notifications happened. THEY DON'T STOP POPPING UP FOR MY USERS. I had to disable the notification because the restore didn't recover the prior configuration I did to stop this. Come on Kaspersky, I'm not the only one having this issue. To resolve the issue, please obtain pf3050 by creating an incident in CompanyAccount, and install it. The fix will also be included in the upcoming versions of KES. Thank you.
