Issues with KIS 2015 upgrade

Recommended Posts

I had a customer bring in an HP computer that was having issues with freezing in Windows 10. I resolved those and noticed that their KIS 2015 wasn't working so I uninstalled it and made sure that the "keep activation data" was checked so I could re-install it. However when I go to re-install the software I receive an error that the installation can not be completed. I checked the computer for Malware/Viruses and didn't find anything so I don't think that is my issue.

If I run Kavremover to cleanup any leftover files from KIS 2015 will it still preserve the activation data so I can re-install the software?

Here is my GetSystemInfo report: http://www.getsysteminfo.com/read.php?file...6be3f96e4230c69

Oddly enough KIS 2016 installs fine, they just don't have license data for it.

Kavremover removes the license data.

Two things: Locate the current activation code, and install the current version.

1. Your Activation Code is on the CD sleeve or card, or in an email, depending on if the purchase was boxed CD, or on-line.

Your Activation Data should be in My Kaspersky, if you registered your product: https://my.kaspersky.com/

If you forgot your ID or password, then click the indicated link on that page.

Contact Tech Support if you can not retrieve your activation code: https://center.kaspersky.com/

and include the license information and any and all purchase documentation with your tech support request.

Always ensure that your Activation Code is backed up. I always have it written down on a paper document. Back it up in My Kaspersky.

2. Please see the first and second Important topics for instructions to download and install KIS version 2017.

Uninstall KIS version 2016 > reboot, then install KIS version 2017.

After you install KIS version 2017, activate with your current activation code > do a databases update > reboot.

Any better with the current version?

Please see the small print that is located at the bottom of this message.
