Portable Word Processor-USB [In progress] [1768735]

Recommended Posts

Our school district uses portable word processors like the Fusion - http://www.writerlearning.com/special-needs/fusion.php, for students with learning disabilities. They're connected to a computer via USB and transfer file contents to MS Word. We'd like to keep BadUSB Attack Prevention enabled but the pop-up window/prompt to authorize USB keyboards is not staying on the screen long enough (about 4 seconds) for some of these students to enter the code resulting in the device being blocked. If a standard USB keyboard is plugged in, the prompt does not disappear until the OK button is clicked but that is not so for the Fusion. Does anyone know how to get around this problem?

Hi,

Can you please check whether the problem occurs if you apply "Allow use of On-Screen Keyboard for authorization"?

If it won't change anything then please collect KES traces during problem appearance and provide us with GSI 6.1 report.

"Allow use of On-Screen keyboard..." is already enabled and is what's being used to try and authorize the devices.

The device used is highly specific, so the issue could not be reproduced in lab environment.

If the issue is still present, please collect a manual memory dump at the moment the authentication window is displayed, and another at the moment after it has disappeared and the device is blocked.

Thank you.
