BSOD on attempt to update Nvidia drivers

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

Last Nvidia driver update [355.98] for Windows 10 x64 released on 22nd of September will not be installed properly on system with running KIS 16.0.614, but will result in BSOD. This is a known issue, which we are currently working on.

The best possible workaround at the moment is to:

1. Boot system in safe mode: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows...ws-10#v1h=tab01

2. Install [355.98] Nvidia driver.

3. Reboot into normal mode.

Updated on September 26:

Pacth B with fix of BSoD issue has been released. Please, update databases and reboot in order to install patch B.

Then two options are available:

1. (More secure) Boot system into Safe Mode (as described above), install NVIDIA drivers and reboot PC normally.

2. (Less secure) Pause anti-virus protection, install NVIDIA drivers and resume protection.

Updated on October 2:

On September 29 databases with the final fix were released. Now it's enough to do the following:

- Run a databases update;

- Restart your computer;

- Run the installation of NVIDIA drivers.

We are deeply sorry for any inconvenience caused.
