VM or real PC?

If you can, it is better to perform tests on physical computers (not VMWare or Virtual PC).

Also it would be useful to test with different hardware configurations: CPU, HDD controllers, motherboards etc.

Before testing:

Enable complete memory dump:

XP: http://support.kaspersky.com/general/dumps/6200

Vista: http://support.kaspersky.com/general/dumps/2142

Win7: http://support.kaspersky.com/general/dumps/7989

Win8+: http://support.kaspersky.com/general/dumps/10659

What to pay attention for:

- speed of scanning and disinfection

- crashes of the product and other apps

Short test plan:

1. Reboot your system several times.

2. Perform Vulnerability Scan and «"C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\%product%\avp.com" start Scan_Vulnerability». Wait until this operations will be finished.

3. Make sure that each scan task processes more than 100 files; and it lasts not longer than 1 hour.

4. [optional] Put your PC into hibernation, resume from it, and then perform «"C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\%product%\avp.com" start Scan_Vulnerability» (Perform “Vulnerability Scan” of your computer). Wait until this operation will be finished.

5. Reboot your system.

6. Perform Vulnerability Scan and «"C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\%product%\avp.com" start Scan_Vulnerability». Wait until this operations will be finished.

7. Make sure that each scan task processes more than 100 files; and it lasts not longer than 1 hour
