Kaspersky Virus Removal Tool 2015 beta testing

Recommended Posts

Traces ON. The same Scan Scope than in post #22 (1st screenshot). I put eicarcom2.zip in 3 folders again: Desktop, C:\test and Windows Start folder... and file was not detected in any folder:

Archive had trusted flag in KSN. Fixed.

Now file must be detected in C:\test. Startup object scan don't unpack archived object. So, in Windows Start folder and Desktop will not detect.

Hello!

New build of KVRT is available - 15.0.19.0

Hi there,

is the KAV 2015 MR2 Version 15.0.2.361 incorporated into this build?

I mean, bugfixes, enhancements, etc. included from the MR2 for KAV 2015?

Thanks in advance!

Kind regards from Germany

KVRT is a standalone tool (not resident protection modules integrated, but KSN) for on demand scanning/disinfection systems in general.

Same scope than in previous posts...

EICAR file placed in: Desktop, C:\Test and system Start folder.

This time the EICAR file was detected in C:\Test, but still not detected in Desktop...

You are talking about the 2 level compressed EICAR eicarcom2.zip, Aren't you?

It's expected behavior. Desktop and Start folder is included in the startup objects scope. And the startup objects scanner doesn't check archives.

The scanner additionally can check the hash of file via our cloud ( KSN service (if it's available) ). Some of the popular non-executable file is detected in this way.

C:\Test is the Custom folder scope. The custom folder scanner unpacks all archives and checks all packed files.
