An error has occurred during installation of Microsoft.Net Framework 4.0

8 posts in this topic

I have uninstalled Kaspersky Internet Security 2013 and a McAfee Product that sneaked into my system.

Each time I try to install Kaspersky Anti-virus 2014 product I get message saying: An error has occurred during installation of Microsoft.Net Framework 4.0.

Never had problems in the past with Kaspersky

Welcome. Uninstall Ask Toolbar and McAfee Security Scan > reboot.

Instead of installing from the installation CD, please download the installer, and use it to install.

Install instructions, installer download links and tips are located in the first, second and fourth Important topics. After you install version 2014, do a databases update > reboot.

Please see the small print that is located at the bottom of this message.

Thanks :supercool:

Where is your Service Pack 2 for Vista? You need Vista Service Pack 2 and then all the other windows updates after SP2 is installed.

1. Clear your temp files, also cleat the ones located at C:/Windows/Temp http://support.kaspersky.com/general/various/1161

2. Uninstall Kaspersky, reboot.

3. Connect to windows update and download and install SP2 for windows vista. This can take some time and is best to do the service pack 2 with Kaspersky uninstalled.

4. Revisit the windows update and ensure that all important updates are installed as well as any optional updates to do with .netframework.

5. Once all the windows updates are installed, Please download the Kaspersky Internet Security 2014 installer from here: http://www.kaspersky.com/product-updates

Install from the downloaded installer. Reboot, update and reboot again.

Any better?

I have looked a few times for "IMPORTANT TOPICS" - have found few with documents, trial downloads and "getsystem" instructions, but nothing with and installer "download"..still frustrated.

Thanks so much Rich- I found the download fix and felt like :cb_punk: ; until download and update were done and I got "Cannot register activation code as a new code" - grr :dash1: . Anyway- the pic was nice for the download and that worked. Any solutions for the latest dilemma?
