MPMINISIGSTUB.EXE Application Control Application placed in group Trusted Signed by the digital signature of entrusted manufacturers

When I scanned my computer today, the above had a yellow triangle beside it. Does anyone know what this is: MPMINISIGSTUB.EXE

If it's bad, how do I find it and get rid of it. I could not find this when I looked in my application control file.

Thanks

Karen

Hi....Do you have Microsoft Security Essentials on you computer as you shouldn't have

because there would be conflicts with Kaspersky.

Where you running windows updates? When I use Windows Updates to update definitions for Windows Defender, I get the same message you have been seeing.

I noticed this same file appear on one of my external drives this morning. Two folders appeared, one empty, which I deleted. I did do a definitions update this morning but can't find it to remove it if that was the cause. I also found this when researching it which may be useful: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows...AllReplies#tabs

I have no idea if the latest security update had anything to do with the file's appearance, but on checking 'task manager' I couldn't find it listed, so it doesn't appear to be running. As this is a hidden application how does one remove it?

//edit: Not a Kaspersky related issue. This ancient off-topic thread is amicably closed.
