On one of my drives I have a number of folders - their names are random characters and numbers.

Like:

F:\1d368e02d5917260e1c788179a8b

F:\43a16320b503cb8bf2fecc20

F:\363bfa81624b6354d1950bb808d3ab

F:99066337a2149cae6e7

In 2 of them is a file named: $shtdwn$.req 4KB

Other folders are empty.

Anyone out there who can tell me what this is??

TIA

hello

might be left over folders from windows patches installations. $shtdwn$.req does belong to something like that, and that's the standard format for a windows patch installation process

Thanks.

Weird thing is that this file ($shtdwn$.req) only show up on my "F:\" drive, nowhere else. Even not on C:\

Drives go up to P:

They have a kind 'lock' added (from Directory Opus)

Well anyway... will try to remove them one day.

Thanks again.
