Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 vs Kaspersky PURE

15 posts in this topic

After researching, i found the KIS 2011 uses more advanced technologies than kPURE. For example, KIS 2011 uses 2011 technologies. kPURE does not. kPURE uses 2010's technologies BUT it is said to have the BEST protection ever. so how can you judge them and say...."this one is better"? and why?

Well, that's easy. The one is so good it's the best, and the other one is even betterer. ;)

also.....i forgot to mention ..KIS 2011 uses 2011 technologies and PURE doesnt. HOWEVER, PURE has more advanced features like the PASSWORD MANAGER, MY ENCRYPTION, BACKUP, AND VERY ADVANCED PARENTAL CONTROLS even tough KIS 2011 has new uninterested and useless features in my opinion. That includes system watcher, green feature, the gadget. i mean, dont just choose to say that KIS 2011 is better because is 2011 and is newer. really tell why.

As Richbuff said. In this case there is no better or worse. Both are really great. It just depends on what you really need.

I for one don't use these; MY ENCRYPTION, BACKUP, AND VERY ADVANCED PARENTAL CONTROLS, so there is no need for me now to use PURE.

Same here , i went for 2011 version . I never been interested in blocking porn for example so there is no need for Parental Control :b_lol1:

That would explain the glowing hand. :)

You can also get Kaspersky Password Manager as a stand-alone product, as well as Kaspersky KryptoStorage. The only thing you cannot get alone is the Backup software in PURE.

LMAO!! but what if other people that come to your house want to use the computer or little kids, or even hackers that need to access porn sites, or hacking sites to damage your computer. dont you need parental controls anyways? and by the way, KIS 2011 has parental controls.

The parental controls in 2011 are the same as the ones in pure.

Basically, the only thing pure has is encryption, backup, the shredder and the password manager plus a centralized management posibility (eg, pure on all pcs in your household and you can manage and view reports from your own pc - set pure, find out where the kids have been etc).

Ask yourself, do you need them? if you need them, then pure, otherwise kis is just fine.

The answer is pretty simple:

kPURE was released a few months before the release of the k2011 products (KAV, KIS), and they didn't wanted to release a new version for a brand new BIG software.

for me KIS 2011 is better than pure, cause i don't like the Interface of it, and it takes a lot of space that i don't really need.
